GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE

Pastoral The first round of promotion of our next course of Stephen Ministry Training has been completed. We continue to explore the possibility of hosting St. John’s counseling service at St Andrew’s Church.

Family Ministry

HOME4U

April 3 was the Family Ministry Easter Walk at The Peak. Carol did an amazing job organizing this event! The weather was perfect. 120 people of all ages, across all services walked around The Peak in the afternoon culminating in a gathering to worship, share communion and hear a talk from Dan about God’s sacrificial love for us demonstrated in Jesus on the Cross. It was a wonderful day! Several newcomers joined and have slowly become a bit more involved in St Andrew’s. God is good! Children’s Ministry Children’s Ministry is very thankful for the new facilities we have to use on Sundays. The move went well and the first lesson in the Life Centre was very exciting.

Youth Praise God for a smooth transition into the first floor hall for the Sunday morning Fusion Youth program. It is wonderful to have the youth on the same piece of land as the rest of church once again. We are looking at the book of James on Sunday mornings, and going through a series on the whole storyline of the Bible in our Friday growth group. Please pray that the youth would listen to God’s word, understand it, and obey it.

We took every chances to have fun and enjoy the public holidays, this month we plan to visit Bride’s Pool at Taipo, it was a perfect weather to have fellowship outdoor and some of the ladies invited their friends. It was nice meeting new friends and let others know that we are from St. Andrews and we meet regularly. Besides from sharing foods, we enjoyed each others company and fellowship. Discipleship We have begun promoting ‘Equip’, the name given for our Sunday morning adult education programme. The first course will be the first unit in the PTC programme called ‘Introduction to the Bible’. We will also offer other courses apart from PTC units, and these will depend on what staff and lay members are able to teach. Donations Welcome

As we learn to use this space, we are still experimenting with logistics and programming for the next few months seeing what works and what doesn’t. Please continue to pray for grace as we embrace the changes and learn to do things in new ways.

Mission

This is the first joint English speaking church program in order to serve those who are poor in our communities together. Eight English teachers from our church are committed to prepare an English program specifically for the camp together. It was just wonderful to see how they use their gifts, skills and talents towards the program. It is now recruiting volunteers to serve at the camp. Please see more details at our church website.

St Andrew’s Church depends solely on the sacrificial giving of its members for its daily upkeep and the running of its ministries. Please consider giving regularly to the General Fund by placing a standing order with your bank and joining the Planned Christian Giving scheme. By providing the church with a steady source of income, you will help St Andrew’s to make plans and budget accordingly. More information can be obtained from the website or by calling the church office. Brochures are available at the Hub. www.standrews.org.hk
