Documentation OO Central User’s Guide (Central_UsersGuide.pdf)

Defect QCCR1D112003: Error in statement concerning the behavior of renaming a configuration item which has override value In the section “Managing your runtime environment with overrides” in the OO Central User’s Guide, the statement “If you rename a configuration item, its corresponding override is also renamed and remains valid.” is in error. In actuality, when you rename a configuration item (Remote Action Service, System Account, or System Property) in Studio, you must check in the name change for the corresponding environment override of the configuration item (Remote Action Service, System Account, or System Property) to also be renamed.

Known issues Defect QCCR1D99677: The Japanese JIS 2004 character set for KANJI expressed with 2byte+2byte per one character in UTF-16 encoding is not supported The Japanese JIS 2004 character set for KANJI is only supported on Windows 2008 and Vista operating systems. In OO 7.60, it is certified to work only with an Oracle database.

Defect QCCR1D99909: Searching for flows by keyword in the Japanese version of Central fails unless you search for the full flow name When you search for a flow in the Japanese language version of Central, the search fails unless you use the complete name of the flow (for example, use Manage Volume ACL instead of just ACL).

Defect QCCR1D101887: Timeout issue for all Amazon EC2 content After an Amazon EC2 operation opens a connection with a correct proxy host and port using the HTTP 1.1 protocol, it maintains a persistent connection that lasts approximately one minute, and then the timer is reset. Any request issued during that time interval uses that connection, and Amazon stores the settings. If no other request is issued during that time, the connection expires and is closed. All Amazon EC2 integration operations store settings during the connection, so if you execute two operations—the first with valid inputs and the second with invalid inputs—both go to success. The workaround for this defect is to use a Wait or Sleep step.

Defect QCCR1D101977: Amazon EC2 Start Instances operation does not support multiple security groups The Start Instances operation located in the Library/Integrations/Amazon/EC2/Instances/ folder, does not support multiple security groups. When you launch instances using the Start Instances operation, you can only specify a single security group even though you can select multiple security groups when launching instances from the Amazon EC2.

Defect QCCR1D102124: Amazon EC2 operations fail if the proxy requires authentication The Amazon EC2 operations, located in the Library/Integrations/Amazon/EC2/ folder and its subfolders, fail if the proxy server that connects to Amazon requires authentication.

Defect QCCR1D103878: When publishing a repository, sealed content appears enabled to publish When you publish a repository from source to target, sealed content can be published by administrators. However, publishing does not allow sealed content to be deleted. Some items may not be able to be published because they would cause existing items to be deleted. The Outgoing icon is still enabled in this case, but cannot be selected.

Defect QCCR1D105016: HP Service Manager 7.11 Close Ticket operation is unable to close a Problem ticket The Close Ticket operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Service Manager folder, fails and does not close the specified Problem ticket.

Defect QCCR1D105057: Service Manager 7.10 Create Change operation succeeds with invalid inputs If you are using HP Service Manager 7.10, the Create Change operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Service Manager/ Change Management/ folder succeeds with invalid input.

3

Defect QCCR1D105582: UCMDB 8.0 Get Object List by Type operation fails with Japanese credentials On a Japanese locale machine, the Get Object List by Type operation, located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Universal CMDB/ folder, fails with valid Japanese username and password input values. The UCMDB defect number is QCCR1H24495.

Defect QCCR1D105742: Microsoft SQL Server Integrity Check for Table flow fails when running against a MSSQL 2K8 server The Check for Table flow located in the Library/Accelerator Packs/Microsoft SQL Server/Health Check/ folder, fails in the SQL Query step when it is run against a MSSQL 2K8 server.

Defect QCCR1D105744: Is An Exchange operation fails with valid inputs The Is An Exchange operation located in the Library/Operations/Exchange/ folder, fails with valid username input value provided in the format username@domain, for example [email protected]. For this operation to work, the username input must be in the format domain/username, for example LabExch2003.ad/jsmith.

Defect QCCR1D105752: Exchange Reply Mail operation fails The Reply Mail operation located in the Library/Operations/Exchange/Emails/ folder, resends the email to itself instead of sending the reply to the original sender.

Defect QCCR1D105760: Exchange Server Info operation fails with valid inputs The Exchange Server Info operation located in the Library/Operations/Exchange/ folder, fails with a valid value for the username, host, or domainName inputs. For this operation to work: •

The value for the username input must be in the format domain/username, for example LabExch2003.ad/jsmith.

The value for the host input must contain only the host name without its domain.

The value for the domainName input must contain the full name of the domain, for example battleground.ad.

Defect QCCR1D105825: Exchange Set Delivery Restrictions operation fails with valid inputs The Set Delivery Restrictions operation located in the Library/Operations/Exchange/ folder, fails with valid inputs. This occurs when the delimiter input has a null value.

Defect QCCR1D105908: Exchange Move Object operation fails with valid inputs The Move Object operations located in the Library/Operations/Exchange/Mailbox/ folder, fails with valid inputs.

4

Defect QCCR1D106088: UCMDB Delete Object operation with an improper but valid objectType input may succeed or fail depending on the CI type If you create a flow that uses the Delete Object operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Universal CMDB/ folder, and enter an improper but valid objectType input, the flow may or may not go to success and delete the object depending on the CI type. For example: •

If you create an object (using the Create Object operation) with an objectType of ip, then create a flow that uses the Delete Object operation to delete this object but specify an objectType of unix, the flow fails.

However, if you create an object with an objectType of host, then create a flow that uses the Delete Object operation to delete this object but specify an objectType of windows when it should be unix, the flow succeeds and the object is deleted.

This is a UCMDB 8.0 Java API issue. See UCMDB CR27530 in the BTO/ETG project.

Defect QCCR1D106409: Results of Index Fragmentation Query Builder operation cannot be executed with valid input The Index Fragmentation Query Builder operation located in the Library/Operations/Databases/Oracle/ folder, generates a SQL query that can be used by other operations to check the fragmentation of the database indexes. The SQL query generated by this operation with valid inputs fails to execute when used by operations such as Index Fragmentation Calculations.

Defect QCCR1D106724: WMI CSV Value Getter operation fails with valid inputs if value_name input is null The WMI CSV Value Getter operation located in the Library/Operations/WMI/ folder, fails with valid inputs if you provide a null value for the value_name input.

Defect QCCR1D107057: OO Japanese language version does not support UTF16LE and UTF-16BE character sets The Japanese language version of OO does not support the UTF-16LE (Little Endian) and UTF-16BE (Big Endian) character sets.

Defect QCCR1D107971: List Scripts operation does not list scripts based on scriptType input The List Scripts command located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Network Automation/7.x/Commands/ folder, does not return any scripts if you enter a value of 1 (for command), 2 (for diagnostic), or 3 (for advanced) in the scriptType input. To work around this issue, leave the scriptType input blank.

5

Defect QCCR1D108326: Get Current Date and Time operation has no option for displaying the result in Japanese format The Get Current Date and Time operation located in the Library/Utility Operations/Date and Time/ folder, does not contain any inputs for selecting Japanese as the language in which to display the date and time.

Defect QCCR1D108357: Command Line Builder flow fails if the command begins with a context variable The Command Line Builder flow located in the Library/Utility Operations/ folder, fails if the command input begins with a context variable. For example, ${JAVA_HOME} -jar OO-7_60_01ContentInstaller.jar.

Defect QCCR1D108747: Validate XML Document operation fails with valid xmlLocation input The Validate XML Document operation located in the Library/Utility Operations/XML Processing/ folder, fails with valid xmlLocation input value.

Defect QCCR1D108836: HTTP Client Detailed Return operation fails in the Japanese language version with UTF-16 and UTF-32 encoding The HTTP Client Detailed Return operation located in the Library/Operations/HTTP Client/ folder, fails in the Japanese language version of OO 7.60.01 when it receives HTTP responses with UTF-16 or UTF-32 encoding.

Defect QCCR1D108927: Temp File Reader operation fails to read files encoded with UTF-8 or UTF-16 The Temp File Reader operation located in the Library/Utility Operations/ folder, fails when the filename input specifies a file using UTF-8 and UTF-16 character sets.

Defect QCCR1D110478: Active Directory authentication starts failing under high load AD authentication failures occur under a high load after about five minutes.

Defect QCCR1D110600: Software requirements notification is not accurate for Win2K8 installations When you install OO Central onto a Win2K8 machine, you receive the following message even though Win2K8 ships with .NET 3.0 Framework: Missing software requirements. Please install the .Net 2.0 Framework SP1 and the .Net 3.0 Framwork or higher, and re-run setup. Setup will exit.

6

The workaround for this issue is to enable the shipped .NET 3.0 Framework by adding the Application Server role via the Server Manager console before installing OO.

Defect QCCR1D110617: Need to integrate the load balancer work with the Node Administration page To synchronize the state of the load balancer with OO node state changes: 1. Create a load balancer management flow to manage the load balancer's state. There are two different ways to do so: If your deployment uses the HP OO Load Balancer, create a flow in which you: a. Create a step from the HP Load Balancer admin flow in the OO Library. Note: The HP Load Balancer admin flow is located in the Library/Integrations/HewlettPackard/Operations Orchestration/Cluster/Samples/ folder. b. In the parent flow, create a single-value flow input named "lbUrl", whose value is the URL described on the Description tab of the HP Load Balancer admin flow. c. If your deployment uses a third-party load balancer, build your own load balancer management flow. For more information, see “Building a flow to manage a third-party load balancer” in the OO Central User’s Guide. 2. On the Clustering Settings subtab on the System Configuration tab: a. Enable load balancer management. b. Specify the load balancer management flow in Central's system configuration. For more information on these two tasks, see “Enabling load balancer management for a Central cluster” in the OO Central User’s Guide.

Defect QCCR1D110803: The number of Studio users is not calculated correctly when a snapshot is opened in Studio If there are no other users connected to the same repository using Studio and you log on to Central, click the Administration tab and then the Node Administration tab, and turn on the Auto Refresh to 15 seconds, the number of users in the Studio Users column is 0. Then, if you log on to the repository for that Central using Studio then look in Central at the Node Administration page, when it refreshes the number in the Studio Users column is incremented to 1. If you create a snapshot of the repository in Studio and then open that snapshot, after a couple of refreshes, notice that the number in the Studio Users column is back at 0.

Defect QCCR1D111036: Central service sometimes does not start after Central is configured in Clustering mode The Central service is not running automatically after Central is configured in Clustering mode. The following error is observed in the Central wrapper log file: ERROR | wrapper | 2010/04/23 08:42:27 | The RSCentral service is already running with status: STOP_PENDING ERROR | wrapper | 2010/04/23 08:45:25 | Shutdown failed: Timed out waiting for signal from JVM. ERROR | wrapper | 2010/04/23 08:45:25 | JVM did not exit on request, terminated STATUS | wrapper | 2010/04/23 08:45:26 | <-- Wrapper Stopped

7

Defect QCCR1D111087: XPath Evaluator operation keeps the context of the first call when multiple calls are executed When there are multiple calls of the XPath Evaluator operation, located in the Library/ Utility Operations/XML Processing/ folder, in the same flow, the operation uses the context of the first call for each run.

Defect QCCR1D111096: HP Load Balancer does not return an error when it is unable to add nodes on a W2K8 server on which UAC is enabled With the HP Load Balancer installed on a W2K8 server with UAC enabled, if you try to add Central nodes using the cluster-config.jar file, the changes are saved successfully but when you open the PAS.conf file and check for the added nodes, they have not been added.

Defect QCCR1D111280: Repository Sync operation cannot publish or update the RAS, System Accounts, or System Properties even after removing them from the excludePaths input list If you create new RAS, System Accounts, and System Properties and then create a flow using the Repository Sync operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Operations Orchestration/Repository/ folder, and set the inputs in the Repository Sync step to Prompt user and the excludePaths input to empty, the RAS, System Accounts, and System Properties are not published when they are removed from the excludePaths input list. To work around this issue, provide a fake value such as xxxx for the excludePaths input to make it non-empty. You can then publish System Accounts, System Properties, and Remote Action Services.

Defect QCCR1D111444: Java exception occurs when manipulating a floating panel In Studio, when you manipulate a floating panel such as the References panel using features such as Maximize/Restore, Hide active auto-hide window, and Toggle auto-hide, a Java exception occurs.

Defect QCCR1D111476: UCMDB Add Relationship operation goes to success but does not add relation with valid input values The Add Relationship operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Universal CMDB/ folder, may go to success with valid but improper inputs. For example, if you try to add a relationship CI with inputs like fromType set to ip, toType set to unix, and relationType set to member, the operation will go to success, but the relationship between the CIs is not added since the inputs are not proper. This is a UCMDB API issue. The UCMDB effect number is 27292 in QC project BTO/ETG.

8

Defect QCCR1D111477: Abandoning rename of RAS_Operator_Path leaves all RAS-based content invalid If you abandon a rename of RAS_Operator_Path. all RAS-based operations become invalid. You must restart Studio to make the operations valid again.

Defect QCCR1D111537: UCMDB Delete Relation operation goes to success with invalid fromType and toType input values The Delete Relation operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Universal CMDB/ folder, goes to success and deletes the specified relation with incorrect values in the fromType and toType inputs. The values from these inputs are not considered at execution. These inputs specify the type of object the relationship is linking, such as network or ip.

Defect QCCR1D111546: Logged in user credentials do not work with a Telnet flow that uses the Send Username or Send Password operations If you create a Telnet flow that uses the Send Username or Send Password operations located in the Library/Operations/Remote Command Execution/Telnet/ folder, the flow fails with logged in user credentials.

Defect QCCR1D111572: You can run a flow with the invalid username and password if you don’t have Execute permissions for a System Account If you have no Execute permissions for a System Account, you can run a flow and it will correctly prompt for the credentials as expected. However, if you provide invalid credentials, the flow might appear to run successfully because the flow is not checking for an unsuccessful login. You cannot check for an unsuccessful login with response evaluation on the Send Username or Send Password operations located in the Library/Operations/Remote Command Execution/Telnet/ folder. Instead, the sample flow Telnet Command Sample located in the Library/Operations/Remote Command Execution/Telnet/Samples/ folder shows how to test for an unsuccessful login.

Defect QCCR1D111667: Java exception occurs when manipulating the Inspector window A Java exception occurs when you manipulate the Inspector window using features such as Maximize/Restore, Hide active auto-hide window, and Toggle auto-hide.

Defect QCCR1D111712: Overriding external users must be created with fullyqualified domain names after upgrading to OO 9.0 from earlier versions Because of authentication enhancements in OO 9.0, overriding external users in OO must be created using their fully qualified names (FQNs). In previous versions of OO, they were created with only their usernames. Therefore, when you upgrade from a previous OO version to 9.0, the old overriding external users created in the previous version are no longer overriding.

9

Create new overriding external users with their FQNs after upgrading to 9.0, and then delete the old external users.

Defect QCCR1D111865: Configure.sh script is copying non-existing file and causing an error The configure.sh script has code that copies .so files. OO has no .so files to copy because everything is statically linked for Linux. You can ignore the error message that occurs as there is no functional impact.

Defect QCCR1D111949: Studio and Central Help do not expand as expected In order for the Table of Contents pane in the Studio and Central Help to function correctly, you must enable Active Scripting for the Web browser with which you view Help. This is an issue with the security settings of Internet Explorer 8 in which Active Scripting is disabled by default. To enable Active Scripting: 1. In Internet Explorer 8, on the Tools menu and then click Internet Options. 2. In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab. 3. Click Custom level. 4. Under Enable Scripting, select Active Scripting. 5. Close all Internet Explorer 8 windows. 6. On the Help menu, click Help Contents.

Defect QCCR1D111978: Exception thrown when starting Solaris RAS When Solaris RAS is started, the exception java.io.FileNotFoundException: ../../RAS/Java/Default/webapp/logs/StorageAutomation.log (No such file or directory) is found in the RAS wrapper log. This is a known error related to an IAction problem, and has no impact on the working of Solaris RAS.

Defect QCCR1D112279: Network Node Manager 9.0 GetNodeByID operation does not work The GetNodeByID operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Network Node Manager/9.0/Nodes/ folder, is currently not working. A fix will be issued in the next ointent release.

Defect QCCR1D112280: Network Node Manager 9.0 GetNodeByUUID operation does not work The GetNodeByUUID operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Network Node Manager/9.0/Nodes/ folder, is currently not working. Running the GetNodeByUUID operation produces the error message org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Premature end of file.

10

Defect QCCR1D112344: Operations Manager Windows Only Create Message operation only passes NORMAL as severity The Create Message operation located in the Library/Integration/Hewlett-Packard/Operations Manager/Windows Only/Message/ folder, is only received with a severity of normal no matter what level is sent from the OO system if you use any upper case letter when entering the severity. The workaround is to use all lower case letters.

Known fixes Defect QCCR1D4384: Studio hangs when trying to open the step details for inputs with very large bindings If you try to open a step that has an input which is bound to a very large string, Studio hangs. This problem has been fixed by placing a limit on the number of characters that can be placed in a constant input.

Defect QCCR1D8789: Can create multiple system accounts with same name in Studio This has been fixed in OO 9.0 You can no longer create system accounts with same name. When renaming system account "A" to "B" in the repository, you receive an error message and the object is not renamed.

Defect QCCR1D84484: Change the RAS timeout from causing an error to causing a failure so the flow can continue When a RAS operation times out, it throws an error and Central stops the flow. This has been fixed in OO 9.0 by having the RAS operation step fail with a timeout exception but having the flow continue on to the next step.

Defect QCCR1D88523: Ability to fully document an OO flow The Generate Documentation operation located in the Library/Integrations/HewlettPackard/Operations Orchestration/ folder, now generates more information for a flow including: •

Output variable names

Filter names

Scriptlets (operation, step, and flow level)

Return step output

Input parameter information

11

Defect QCCR1D9162: Studio debug input handler does not display a list for multi-select dynamic selection lists If you have a flow with a single step and that step has an input that is assigned a user prompt from a selection list, when you run the debugger, the flow runs as expected but the message box presented to the user displays a text field with all of the elements in the selection list instead of the actual selection list. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D89147: Cannot enter an input value for in reopened prompt in Scheduler In Central, if you schedule a flow that has a required input that prompts the user from a selection list by right-clicking the flow in the Flow Library tab and selecting the Schedule option and then click the Inputs tab in the Schedule Flow box, double-click in the input’s Value column, the List Input box opens with the drop-down selection list. The List Input box opens with the drop-down selection list. If you click the Close ( ) button, and then once again open the List Input box, the selection list does not appear or appears but no action is taken when you select a value from the list and click OK. This is fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D89148: Unable to change permissions for a System Account if the editor is open If you create a valid System Account and save and check it in with the System Account editor open, then right-click the System Account and select Permissions, the System Account editor shows the account as editable even though it is in a read-only state. If you make changes to the permissions for the System Account in the Permissions box and click Apply, the message This item is not editable. Either the item is sealed or do not have permissions to edit. appears. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D89648: Abandoning changes on a deleted System Filter does not update the Properties editor If you create a new system filter then open the properties editor of the System Filters folder and delete the new system filter but do not check it in, in the Properties editor of the System Filters folder the new system filter is removed. In the My Changes/Checkouts area, right-click the new system filter, select Abandon changes, and then confirm the abandon. The new system filter should be restored in the Properties editor of the System Filter folder, but the system filter is not restored. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D91212: Automated SSO to Central with Kerberos authentication Users should be automatically signed in to Central when authenticated against their Kerberos infrastructure. This is a new feature in OO 9.0, documented in the “Enabling single sign-on for OO Central” section of the OO 9.00 Administrator’s Guide (AdminGuide.pdf).

12

Defect QCCR1D92518: Garbage runs left in database after Central crashes When you delete a run that is currently in progress or if Central crashes and then restarts, child runs are not deleted from the database. Since child runs cannot be resumed, their state in the database must be deleted but is not. This is fixed in OO 9.0—the system does an orphan child sweep upon startup and then only if a node in the cluster fails (if in clustered mode).

Defect QCCR1D93628: Enhanced support for run administration OO 9.0 has a new Central Current Runs tab which has the following run administration enhancements: •

Current Runs and Watched Runs panels have columns that display the run name, run ID, run type, steps executed, last modified time, run state, and the user who initiated the run. Headless, interactive, SOAP, and scheduled runs are displayed in the Current Runs and Watched Runs panel. Runs that are running or paused are displayed with their states such as New, Running, Stopped, Input Required, Credentials Required, Handed off, and Orphaned. Details of each run are displayed.

Filter panel in the Current Runs panel allows users to filter the current runs based on the run state, run types, run user, run ID, flow name, and flow UUID.

Manage Filter link allows you to save, load, and delete the filters.

User who have Manage Runs capability, can take control of the runs (their own and others) regardless of the run type and state in the Current Runs and Watched Runs panels.

Users with Run Reports capability can view the Run History of runs.

Users without Manage Runs and Run Reports capabilities can take control or delete their own runs.

Users with Manage Runs capability can reassign runs to other users.

All users can watch runs by selecting them from the Current Runs panel.

This new feature is documented in the OO Central User’s Guide (Central_UsersGuide.pdf).

Defect QCCR1D94278: Rollback changes without connecting to Studio To rollback changes to the target repository without using Studio, use the Studio Snapshot feature to capture the current state of the public repository. When you make changes to the repository in Studio and check them in, create a flow using the Repository Sync operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Operations Orchestration/Repository/ folder. Then use the Studio Snapshot feature to take a snapshot of the current repository and save it with a name. Now, in the public repository make some changes such as adding, deleting, or renaming operations, or making modifications to flows and operations, and check them in. To roll back to the saved snapshot of the repository from outside Studio using Central or a headless execution, execute the Repository Sync operation in a flow with the sourceSnapshot input assigned the value of the snapshot name. The changes made to the repository are rolled back to the snapshot view. The Snapshot feature is documented in the “Repository snapshots” section of the Guide to Authoring Operations Orchestrations Flows (Studio_AuthorsGuide.pdf).

Defect QCCR1D94585: In multi-authoring environment, conflict object gets deleted when renaming the parent folder If multiple users create an operation or flow with the same name in the public repository, the operation or flow is displayed as a conflict and is deleted from Library and is not displayed in the Browse Delete History box when you select View Delete History from the Repository menu so that a user can restore it.

Defect QCCR1D95692: Operation Manager operations go to success with invalid severity input when executed headlessly The Update Incident, Create Incident, and Enumerate Incidents operations located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Operations Manager/ folder, have their severity inputs defined as Prompt User from a selection list. If a user enters a value for the severity input that is not in the selection list, the value is accepted by Operations Manager, which treats it as an Unknown severity. This has been fixed in OO 9.0 by having the operations fail if they don’t match items in the selection list.

Defect QCCR1D95802: When configuring a cluster for OO, use the port not in use In the “Creating a load-balancing cluster and adding components to load-balance” section of the Clustering and Load-Balancing for HP Operations Orchestration Guide, step 7 of the To specify which Central servers and standalone RAS installations are load-balanced procedure now states: 7. At the prompt Enter the cluster port, type an unused port for the cluster to use, and then press ENTER. A message appears, reading “Cluster successfully added!” Previously, this instruction indicated that the user should type the default Central port (8443).

Defect QCCR1D96386: The Telnet Command operation has multiple issues that keep it from working properly The Telnet Command operation located in the Library/Operations/Remote Command Execution/Telnet/folder, has issues that have been fixed with the following new inputs: •

ICT_PwdWaitMode allows you to specify how the operation should wait for a response from the server. The possible values are: •

none specifies that the operation does not wait to receive a response from the server before it sends the output specified by the Command input.

any specifies that the operation waits until the server sends at least one character before it sends the command.

match specifies that the operation waits until the terminal expression, if specified, is matched or the timeout has expired. If there is no terminal expression specified, match is the same as none.

Last in Session allows you to specify whether or not the step that executes the operation is the last one in the Telnet session. The possible values are true and false. A true specifies that the step that executes the operation is assumed to be the last one in the Telnet session and that

14

once the operation is finished, the Telnet session closes. This is useful if there are more steps after the current one and you don’t want the connection to the server to stay open. •

Character Set allows you to specify a character set encoding name. For a Japanese localization on a Windows machine, specify MS932 to. display Japanese characters correctly.

Defect QCCR1D97040: In multi-authoring environment, conflict state gets lost when parent is renamed and Studio is restarted If multiple users create an operation or flow with the same name in the public repository in the same folder and the folder is renamed but not checked in, the conflict is lost and the conflict state is not displayed. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D97572: Using Wget to call a Web service using XML as post file and post data does not work To use the Wget utility to call a Web service using XML as post file and post data, you must include the -–header option. For example, instead of the following example: wget --http-user=rsadmin --http-passwd=iconclude --post-file="C:\run-config.xml" https://localhost:8443/PAS/services/rest/run/Library/MyFolder/MyFlow use this syntax:

wget --http-user=rsadmin --http-passwd=iconclude --post-file="C:\run-config.xml" --header "Content-Type: text/xml" "https://localhost:8443/PAS/services/rest/run/Library/MyFolder/MyFlow"

Defect QCCR1D97578: Generate Documentation feature in Studio does not write prompt text If you have a flow with an input that is assigned to prompt the user that includes text you want to display to the user, when you right-click the folder containing the flow and select Generate Documentation, the generated documentation shows the input as "Prompt user", but does not show the text for the prompt. This has been fixed in OO.9.0 to include the prompt text for an input.

Defect QCCR1D98514: Pie charts in reports that access external Web sites are not visible when Internet access is not available If you have a pie chart on the Reports page that accesses external Web sites, when you go to the Reports page on a Central with no Internet access, the pie chart is not displayed. This has been fixed in OO 9.0 be replacing the pie chart with an HTML bar chart.

Defect QCCR1D98883: Incorrect message when adding Telnet operation using Shell Wizard When you use the OO Shell Wizard (shellwizard.exe) to create a Telnet operation, you get the following message prompt:

15

A new step has been added to your flow. This step will establish a new SSH connection to the server, so it is important to ensure that connection specific information is not needed between steps. This has been fixed in OO 9.0 by changing the message for both Telnet and SHH commands to: A new step has been added to your flow. This step will establish a new connection to the server, so it is important ensure that connection specific information is not needed between steps.

Defect QCCR1D98965: Cmd operation fails when using with the HELP command If you run a flow that contains a Cmd operation with HELP as the command to be executed, the flow fails even though HELP is a valid command. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D100138: Running the Active Directory (AD) Create New User flow for a user that already exists in AD, deletes the user from AD When you run the Create New User flow, located in the Library/Accelerator Packs/Active Directory/Utility/ folder, for a user that already exists in AD, the flow deletes the user and displays the error message "The object already exists”. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D102575: XML Processing operations lack support for default namespaces The XML Element Filter and XPath Evaluator operations located in the Library/Utility Operations/XML Processing/ folder do not support default namespaces. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D103200: Service Manager Close Ticket operation failing with valid inputs If you use the Close Ticket operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Service Manager/ folder to close a Problem or Change ticket, the operation appears to fail but actually closes the ticket. This has been fixed.

Defect QCCR1D103514: Service Manager 7.11 Create Change operation fails with valid inputs The Create Change operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Service Manager/Change Management/ folder, fails with Service Manager (SM) 7.10 and 7.11 if you do not enter values for the assignmentGroup, service, and requestedEndDate inputs. Values for these inputs are not required for versions of SM earlier than 7.10, but are required for SM versions 7.10 and later.

16

Defect QCCR1D103825: Service Manager Get Incident operation fails if the Ticket ID is entered without a prefix The Get Incident operation located in Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Service Manager/Incident Management/ folder, fails if you enter a value for the id input (the ticket ID) without a prefix (such as IM). This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D103983: Unsaved flow changes are lost if permissions are changed If you create an operation and save it then make some changes to the operation but do not save the changes, then right-click the folder containing the operation and select Permissions, change the permissions for the folder and select the Apply to Contents check box and click the Apply button, you are not prompted to save the changes to the operation and the changes are lost. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D104123: Service Manager 7.11 Update Change operation fails with valid inputs The Update Change operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Service Manager/Change Management/ folder, fails with valid values for the plannedEndDate or plannedStartDate inputs. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D104297: Create Operations from RAS pulls too many operations The Create Operations from RAS function in Studio is used by content developers to import new or modified IActions. This function pulls every operation from every archive in the RAS and creates a new operation in Studio for it. This has been fixed in OO 9.0 by displaying a dialog box that allows the user to choose which operations to import.

Defect QCCR1D105048: When upgrading from OO 7.51 English language version to OO 7.60 Japanese language version, the connection to public and private repositories fails when a secondary AD is configured in the 7.51 version There is a known limitation that requires user intervention after upgrading a system that had extra AD providers and configured them in Central.properties. To work around this issue, do the following: 1. After the upgrade, delete the following lines from applicationcontext.xml:

17

${SecondaryADAuthGroupBased.defaultRole}
${SecondaryADAuthGroupBased.URL} ${SecondaryADAuthGroupBased.roleContextsList} ${SecondaryADAuthGroupBased.roleAttribut esSearchFilters} ${SecondaryADAuthGroupBased.roleNameAttribute} ${SecondaryADAuthGroupBased.userSearchDNs} ${SecondaryADAuthGroupBased.userContext} ${SecondaryADAuthGroupBased.defaultRole} 2. Delete the following bean reference for the secondary AD from applicationcontext.xml: 3. Restart the RSCentral service. 4. Wait for the repository to be localized into Japanese. 5. Configure the secondary AD in Central as "LDAP Authentication". Note: "AD Authentication" is deprecated in 9.00. 6. Restart the RSCentral service. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D105180: Service Manager 7.00 Create Change operation is missing an input The Create Change operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Service Manager/ Change Management/ folder, does not have the required input for the Department of the Assignee. In OO 9.0, there is a new input named department which allows you to provide the Department of the Assignee. You should only assign a value to the department input when you are creating a new change having RFC - Advanced as the category when using Service Manager 7.00 or 7.01. The value of the input can only be assigned to the matching 'header, assign.dept' SM field if the latter is exposed by the SM Web service in the ChangeManagement.wsdl file, otherwise the operation will fail with a The Department of the Assignee is required message. RFC - Advanced is not a valid change category in SM 7.10 and 7.11. This is valid only in SM 7.00 and 7.01. Therefore, you should not use the department input only in SM 7.00 and 7.01 when the change category is RFC - Advanced.

18

There is also a new input named riskAssessment which you must set when creating a new change with RFC - Advanced as category.

Defect QCCR1D105223: Printing report issues when HTML or XML in the rendered fields When printing a report that contains HTML or XML operations in the Results area by clicking Export and selecting Print for a report, the browser attempts to resolve the HTML or XML and display it properly. This can cause browser errors, breaking the formatting of the report and causing an error in the Reports tab so that you must restart the display of the report by clicking the Reports tab again. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D105454: Active Directory generate LDAP error and may fail if the server response message contains invalid XML characters The OU input in all of the Java Active Directory operations, located in the Library/Operations/Active Directory/Java/Users/ folder, must include the full array of descriptors needed by the operation—the OU plus the baseDN. If the OU input does not contain the full array of descriptors, the operation generates an LDAP error. This issue applies to all operations using or based on LDAP. The OU input value is the Organizational Unit DN or Common Name DN, for example OU=OUTest1,DC=battleground,DC=ad. In some instances, operations interacting with Active Directory or LDAP may fail due to invalid XML characters in the server response string. This has been fixed for the Delete User operation located in the Library/Operations/Active Directory/Java/Users/ folder in OO 9.0 by adding a method that filters out the null characters. The invalid characters made the operation fail in Central but run to success in Studio.

Defect QCCR1D105542: Active Directory .NET Set User Terminal Services Configuration operation fails with valid inputs The Set User Terminal Services operation located in the Library/Operations/Active Directory/.NET/Users/ folder, fails with a valid profilePath input value if the value is not entered in the proper format. The profilePath input specifies the terminal services user profile path (the place where the operating system saves information about the user). You must use the format \\server_name\shared_folder_name\user_profile_folder_name.

Defect QCCR1D106233: Network Automation Stop Task operation fails if no value is specified for the id input The Stop Task operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/network Automation/7.x/Tasks/ folder, fails if you do not enter a value for the id input since this is a required input. This has been fixed in OO 9.0; the id input is no longer a required input.

Defect QCCR1D106616: Exchange Read Email operation always returns the date in GMT The Read Email operation located in the Library/Operations/Exchange/Emails/ folder, always returns the date in GMT (Greenwich Mean Time). This has been fixed in OO 9.0; the date is converted to the local time zone.

Defect QCCR1D106658: Red Hat 4 OO installations has time zone problems In some Red Hat 4 OO installations, Central is always set to the GMT -0000 time zone. When there is a time zone difference between the machine the Web Browser is run on and Central, the difference is displayed at the top of the Central main page. Additionally, the timestamps on flows run on Central are reported in GMT time rather than the system’s time zone. Here are some possible workarounds for these issues: •

Re-copy the proper time zone file from the /usr/share/zoneinfo/ folder to the /etc/localtime/ folder. For example, cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Pacific /etc/localtime.

OR

Before starting Central, RAS, or Scheduler processes, perform an export TZ= in the shell that starts these processes. For example, export TZ="US/Pacific.

Defect QCCR1D106723: Network Automation Get ACL operation fails with valid inputs The Get ACL operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Network Automation/7.x/Devices/ folder, fails with valid inputs when used with Network Automation 7.60. This is fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D107350: Kerberos and SSO stops working if the Microsoft security patch “ Extended Protection for Authentication” is applied If a machine that has been updated with the Microsoft security patch “Extended Protection for Authentication” (see the Microsoft KnowledgeBase article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968389) attempts to authenticate against OO with Kerberos or SSO, the authentication fails with the message “GSSException: Channel binding mismatch (Mechanism level: ChannelBinding not provided!)". To work around this problem: 1. Open the Windows Registry Editor and create a registry key with the name SuppressExtendedProtection of type DWORD and set it to 0000002. 2. Restart the machine. On a Windows 7 machine, you must perform the following additional steps to enable Central SSO: 1. Open the Local Security Policy application (type Security in the Windows 7 Search bar). 2. Go to Local Policies then Security Options, and then open the Network security: Configure encryption types allowed for Kerberos. 3. In the dialog box that opens, select all types and then apply the settings.

Defect QCCR1D107414: SiteScope Run Monitor operation fails with valid inputs The Run Monitor operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/SiteScope/9.x and 10.x and 11.00/folder, fails with valid inputs when running SiteScope 9.0. Due to a monitor path validation defect in the SiteScope 9.0 SOAP API, any monitor used by this operation must meet the following criteria: 1. It must be contained in a parent group with the same name as the monitor. 2. The parent group of the monitor must not be in the SiteScope root. It must be in another group. For example, a monitor named pingMonitor must be in a monitor group of the same name (pingMonitor). This monitor group must be in another monitor group (aMonitorGroup): aMonitorGroup/pingMonitor/pingMonitor. To successfully run this example monitor in SiteScope 9.0, you must specify the path to the parent group of the monitor— aMonitorGroup/pingMonitor. This defect has been resolved in SiteScope 9.5.

Defect QCCR1D107671: HP Service Manager Close Ticket operation fails with valid inputs If you create a flow that uses the Close Ticket operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Service Manager/ folder, the flow fails with the message “Closure code and assignee are required for Change tickets” if: •

You assign the ticketType input a value of Problem.

AND •

You do not assign values for the assignee and resolutionType inputs.

As a workaround for this problem, assign values for the assignee and resolutionType inputs.

Defect QCCR1D107974: HP Network Automation Diff Configurations operation goes to Success but returns invalid information if the configurations differ too much The Diff Configurations operation located in the Library/Integrations/Hewlett-Packard/Network Automation/7.x/Configurations/ folder, goes to Success but returns garbled information if the configurations it compares differ by more than one line.

Defect QCCR1D108087: In Active Directory authentication, a user’s primary group is not returned in the Test Authentication results The Test Authentication results only display the user’s secondary group Domain Users. The user’s primary group Domain Guests is not displayed in the Found Groups section.

Defect QCCR1D108722: New NA Diagnostics list for integrating with NA 7.50 and later OO 9.00 contains a new selection list for HP Network Automation (NA) diagnostics. This list is for integrating OO with NA 7.50 and above. The Diagnose Device operation located in the Library/Integration/Hewlett-Packard/Network Automation/7.x/Task/ folder and the List Diagnostic

21

Runs operation located in the Library/Integration/Hewlett-Packard/Network Automation/7.x/Devices/folder have been updated to use the NA diagnostics selection list. When you create a new flow using the above operations to integrate with NA 7.50 and above, use the provided NA Diagnostics selection list. To integrate with an older version of NA, you must update the operations to use NAS Diagnostics list. For existing flows that use the above operations to integrate with NA 7.50 and above, you must update flows to use the NA Diagnostics selection list. To integrate with an older version of NA, you can use the NAS Diagnostics selection list provided in the operations since the operations in an existing flow still point to that list.

Defect QCCR1D108791: Ping operation requires characterSet input if the host system is a Japanese Windows Server 2008 or Vista The Ping operation located in Library/Operations/Operating Systems/Windows Management/ folder, produces garbled results when executed on a Japanese Windows Server 2008 or Vista host system. To work around this issue, you must add a characterSet input to the Ping operation. The value for the characterSet input (for instance SJIS or Shift_JIS) depends on the host system, which interprets the encoding of the Ping result. Choose a characterSet input value that the host system can use to return the result of the operation and that the RAS system can use to send out the command without any problems. The host operating system and the operating system that runs the OO RAS must use compatible character sets as well.

Defect QCCR1D108874: Repository Sync operation used on a cluster writes to local repository instead of public repository If you create a flow in your local repository and set the target repository for publishing against a cluster, then use the Repository Sync operation to publish the flow against the target, the operation syncs with the local repository instead of the shared repository defined in the central.properties. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D108866: Find Inactive Domain Administrators flow fails with valid inputs The Find Inactive Domain Administrators flow located in the Library/Accelerator Packs/Active Directory/ folder, fails with valid inputs. The Get Domain DN step fails with the following message: The server is not operational. The machine is not in the DNS and the dnsServer input gets overwritten with the name of the machine (instead of ip). This is fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D109444: Date Parser operation missing from public repository if OO 7.60.01 English content is installed over OO 7.60 Japanese version If you install the OO 7.60.01 English language version on an existing OO 7.60 Japanese language version, the Date Parser operation located in the Library/Utility Operations/Date and Time/ folder is missing from the OO public repository (it does exist in the local repository). The workaround for this issue is to re-run the OO 7.60.01 installer.

Defect QCCR1D109654: When upgrading from OO 7.51 to OO 9.0, if you use secondary Active Directory authentication you cannot log on. After you upgrade from OO 7.51 to OO 9.0, if you use secondary AD authentication when attempting to log on to OO, you receive the message Encountered 503: SERVICE_UNAVAILABLE error.

Defect QCCR1D110009: In languages that use commas (,) instead of periods (.) in number formats, math operations do not work correctly Math operations such as Addition, Subtraction, and Multiply located in the Library/Utility Operations/Math and Comparison/ folder, do not work correctly for languages such as German and Turkish that use commas(,) instead of periods (.) in their number formats. For example, 345.464.456,54 is interpreted as 345464456.54. This has been fixed.

Defect QCCR1D110076: Encrypted passwords in HP Operations Manager OO integration operations are displayed when run in OO When Operations Manager launches an OO flow via the Web Service API, it provides the inputs and starts the flow run as PAUSED. You are then directed to the OO Guided Run page to resume the flow. The inputs are considered to be headless and don't get encrypted. Therefore, the Guided Run page displays the contents of all of the inputs. This is fixed in OO 9.0 so that OO allows encryption In any kind of URL that launches a flow run.

Defect QCCR1D110086: Remote Command operations fails with valid inputs The Remote Command operation located in the Library/Operations/Remote Command Execution/ folder, fails when the protocol input value is GlobalShell or NasConnectTelnet with Protocol GlobalShell not supported or Protocol NasConnectTelnet not supported. To work around this issue, enter global_shell instead of GlobalShell or nas_connect_telnet instead of NasConnectTelnet.

Defect QCCR1D110397: SOAP API runflow should not ignore input value provided for a Constant value flow input If you use the SOAP API runflow to run a flow and pass a flow input that is defined as a Single Value input type with a constant value, the provided value is not used. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.

Defect QCCR1D110497: ROI not showing on run report when ROI in a subflow and the flow is run headlessly The ROI value on the Success path of an executed subflow is ignored in the ROI calculation for the flow when the flow is run headlessly. If the flow is run from Central, the ROI in the subflow step is included. This has been fixed in OO 9.0.
