HERMES CREATIVE AWARDS 2017 The Pacific featured in Private Air Luxury Homes Magazine Fall 2016
An adaptive reuse development designed by Handel Architects, The Pacific is the only significant newly constructed, residential development in central Pacific Heights in decades. With stunning architecture envisioned and executed by internationally acclaimed Glenn Rescalvo at Handel Architects and interior design of all common spaces and residences by Handel Interior Design, the property features an array of one-, two- and three-bedroom flats and three-level townhomes in the building, along with a rare collection of seven penthouses ranging up to approximately 3,073 square feet and four Grand Penthouses with private, expansive wrap-around terraces, ranging up to approximately 4,048 square feet. As this LEED Gold development by Trumark Urban in San Francisco’s prestigious Pacific Heights neighborhood geared up for the official launch of sales in the tower July 2016, we aimed to secure top tier media placements to best support the efforts of the sales team. By utilizing the incredible imagery and offering exclusive interviews with the designer and developer, we aimed to help tell this property’s incredible story. As one of the main challenges, from a building and design aspect, transforming the existing 250,000square-foot structure into a new use and elegant property well-suited for the neighborhood was an exciting challenge and a new type of project for the entire design team and the supporting community. The overall scale and proportions of the building’s structure was another unique aspect deeply considered since it was unique within the primarily single-family home neighborhood. Trumark Urban engaged with world-renowned Handel Architects and together saw an opportunity in the re-cladding of the facade to introduce "window apertures", a concept that also took cues from the traditional bay window. These apertures were strategically placed and coordinated with the interior spaces to create unique opportunities for capturing breathtaking views while perched out beyond the line of the building. Since the design was one of the most significant parts of the project, we knew we needed to tell this aspect of the property’s story to the team’s key audience. As a solution, we connected with the editorial team at Private Air Magazine, a top-tier target publication for Trumark Urban, and offered the editor in chief an exclusive interview with Glenn Rescalvo of Handel Architects and Arden Hearing of Trumark Urban. The result was a placement on the front cover of Private Air and a 7 page spread highlighting The Pacific as a rare opportunity to live in the Pacific Heights, likely to never come again.
