Highland Happenings January 2019 For more information on regularly scheduled activities / Bible studies please read the listing of ministries in the “Overview of Ministries” section. If you have the shortened version, refer to the complete newsletter online.

Highland on Mission: Christmas is a season of giving; a season that gives great opportunities for each of us at Highland to reach out with the message of Jesus’ birth. During this past month, One Way kids and G180 teens provided food baskets for families in the area; leftover food was given to nine different area school food pantries. School staff (that came to our Wausau campus to pick up the food) shared that by helping meet children’s basic needs (with this food) teachers are better enabled to help children learn during the day. And this year the Giving Tree Ministry partnered with One Starry Night! So over 100 children were blessed with Christmas gifts in the Marathon, Weston, and Wausau areas! The children and their families came to Highland’s One Starry Night event to pick up their gifts and thus they heard the gospel message! Each family received a Children’s Storybook Bible and a gospel tract of how much Jesus loves them – that His death, burial and resurrection is the one and only true reason for Christmas!

G180: G180 is the Junior High and Senior High Youth Ministry at Highland. Our name describes a generation of youth who desire to turn 180° from the world and toward Christ. Our goal is to equip youth to grow in their relationship with Christ, build healthy friendships, and learn from God’s Word. While the Jr. High (grades 6 to 8) and Sr. High (grades 9 to 12) groups both meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 8:00 pm during the school year, each group has separate programs aside from combined worship and a few events. There is also Sunday school, yearly trips, special events, leadership opportunities, and so much more for youth. Just ask us!
