Local Tourism Partners on television Recently, the producers of a syndicated TV cooking show contacted us about including some home-grown businesses in future programs. It’s a great way to showcase locally produced products and our community to audiences across the state. “Taste Texas” is a cooking show typically filmed in front of a live audience in the Dallas Sub Zero Wolf studio location, except when filming on the road. The goal of the show is to demonstrate to viewers where their food comes from and how to integrate fresh ingredients into a recipe. The hosts are Amy Kushnir and Chef Garth Blackburn. The show is broadcast on Wednesdays at 11am, Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 2pm and airs in the following markets: Dallas/Fort Worth (independent station), Tyler/ Longview (ABC affiliate), Port Arthur/Beaumont (ABC affiliate), and San Angelo/Abilene (Fox affiliate). The production team spent the week of May 15 filming in the Washington County area. Several of the segments have already aired and can now be seen on YouTube. If you would like to see friends and neighbors in their “movie star” roles, visit www.youtube.com/user/tastetexastv. Look for the “Chicken & Waffles recipe Part 2” featuring Chappell Hill Lavender Farm and “Grilled Chicken Salad with Briannas dressing Parts 1-4.” As future shows air, they become available on YouTube. Additional segments will continue to appear over the next few weeks.
