How Do We Surrender To God? A sermon series called “Surrender”

1. _______________ to God! “Zechariah asked the angel, ‘How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.’ The angel said to him, ‘I am Gabriel I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and tell you this good news. And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words.’” Luke 1:18-20

2. _______________ ourselves to God! “Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, ‘I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?’ Jesus replied, ‘Let it be so not; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.’ Then John consented.’” Matthew 3:13-15

3. _______________ God! “When John, who was in prison, heard about the deeds of the Messiah, he sent his disciples to ask him, ‘are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’” Matthew 11:2-3

4. _______________ to God! “Now Herod had arrested John and bound him and put him in prison because of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife, for John had been saying to him: ‘It is not lawful for you to have her.’ Herod wanted to kill John, but he was afraid of the people, because they considered John a prophet.” Matthew 14:3-5
