“Integrity Really Matters” Ephesians 4:17-32

November 5, 2017

Much confusion in the Christian life comes from ignoring the simple truth that God is far more interested in building your character than He is anything else. We worry when God seems silent on specific issues such as “What career should I choose?” The truth is there are many different careers that could be in God’s will for your life. God is far more interested in what you are than in what you do. We are human beings, not human doings. God is much more concerned about your character than your career, because you will take your character into eternity, but not your career. I) INTEGRITY MATTERS TO JESUS:

C)

Christ taught us how to be a whole person.

II) INTEGRITY MATTERS TO THE CHURCH: (vs.25-29)

A) As members of the body of Christ we are to speak the truth to help each other grow.

B) Don’t get angry and sin against your brother in Christ.

C) Stealing is forbidden by God. Thou shall not steal. But people are doing it and not getting caught.

(vs.17-24)

A) Integrity means the state of being complete, whole, entire, unimpaired, state of being of sound moral principle.

III) INTEGRITY MATTERS TO THE HOLY SPIRIT: (vs. 30-32)

A) How can we grieve the Holy Spirit? B) The people who lack integrity have their minds void of moral values or they are completely confused in their moral thinking and therefore (vs.18) they are alienated from God.

B) When we grieve the Holy Spirit it leads to lying to the Holy Spirit then we quench the Holy Spirit.
