Internship Placement Coordinator Navitas Professional, Careers & Industry Melbourne, Full-time Navitas is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, English language training and settlement services, creative media education, workforce education and student recruitment.

Navitas, or PIBT as it was then, was founded in 1994 with the goal of helping more international students succeed at university in Australia via improved student support and an extended academic year. Since this time Navitas has significantly expanded the services it offers its students and clients and is now creating opportunities through lifelong learning for over 83,000 people in 31 countries per year. The role fits in our Careers & Industry division, based in Melbourne and reporting to the Internships Team Leader. You will closely collaborate with a team of Internship Placement Coordinators as well as liaise with our Business Development and Program Services teams in supporting our mutual goal of facilitating student success. The focus of an Internship Placement Coordinator is to source internship opportunities for Navitas Professional participants (Professional Year Program, Career Experience Program, Navitas Professional Internship Program), in executing placement targets, managing the end-to-end recruitment cycle and building relationships with industry stakeholders. You will account manage and grow a dedicated portfolio of Host Companies within Accounting, IT and Engineering sectors. This role is designed for someone who holds significant insight into the employment landscape, particularly the international student market in developing graduate employability. You will confidently guide both students and host companies through the processes and manage their experience to ensure positive long term relationships.

Essential At least 2-3 years’ experience in recruitment/career services/human resources Proven record of building and maintaining successful relationship with external stakeholders Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship building skills Sound understading of business development practices and targeted networking strategies Excellent initiative, problem solving skills and high sense of urgency Strong time management and organisational skills

Desirable criteria A strong passion for supporting international students integrate into the Australian workforce Experience in developing relationships with corporate clients, liaising with senior management Knowledge of our speciliased industry streams; Engineering, IT and Accounting Proficient IT skills with strong knowledge of CRM software Solid understanding of human resource legislation and/or Australian internships and visa regulations

Overview and Objectives of the Position:

Navitas Careers & Internships is an integral element of Navitas Professional. It delivers internship and career placement opportunities to recent graduates with a focus on international student graduates. The business has also close synergies with other units within Navitas Professional which offer a range of programs aimed at providing capabilities that drive the “Find-Train-Place” operational paradigm. Two key functions of the role are the provision of internships for participants of the Professional Year Program and the Study to Work Programs. The Internship Placement Coordinator works to find internship placements for Navitas participants (Professional Year Program, Career Experience Program, Navitas Professional Internship Program and Study to Work Programs) into host companies. These internship roles are related to the participant’s field of study. We have an established network of companies in Victoria supporting this program and wish to continually expand our network due to an increase in placements needed.

Key Result Areas:

Duties:  Develop strong relationships at the appropriate levels within a broad range of industries across Victoria with the aim of generating internship opportunities for Navitas participants.  Conduct outbound calls and attend meetings with prospective host companies/internship providers  Develop further business opportunities with existing internship partner companies  Interview all program participants and shortlist participant resumes for host companies  Coach all program participants on interview skills and Australian workplace culture  Monitor the progress of the placed interns and provide support to host companies  Participate in networking events, information seminars and industry information days  Networking with industry to explore further internship opportunities/vacancies  Class presentations on internships as required across all internship programs

Maintain and update the CRM systems (Salesforce, WIP, and SONIA) Complete general administration work related to internship placements as required Other duties related to the Navitas Careers & Internships unit as directed by Management and the Vic Operations Manager

Responsibilities:  Business development and expansion of internship opportunities available to Navitas participants  Attending meetings with potential and current host companies  Act as a liaison point if difficulties arise during the internship  Negotiate with internship host company on aspects of internship training plans  Recording of all parts of the internship placement process and updating systems appropriately  Place graduates into quality and complaint internships with suitable host companies  Monitoring intern progress and providing support  Weekly Placement reporting

Performance Indicators:  90% Internship placement success rate for an allocated project  Weekly Reporting to VIC State Manager, Careers & Internships  Ability to generate new internship partners through business development and client relationships  Ability to generate and maintain repeat business through excellent service and client relationships  Maintain placement results on a monthly basis (minimum 15 internship placements per month)

Qualifications and Selection Criteria

Essential:  Previous experience within recruitment or human resources or internship operations with a business development focus  Targeted networking, business development and cold calling experience  Demonstrated ability to meet placement targets and deadlines  Exceptional customer and client management skills  Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills  Strong time management skills, organisational skills and attention to detail  Initiative, drive and a strong sense of urgency Desirable:  Previous recruitment or placement experience with professional organisations  Previous experience with international student or non-native English speakers  Relevant business degree or tertiary qualifications  Previous experience with international students or non-native English speakers  Knowledge of visa regulations  Solid understanding of human resource legislation and/or Australian internships
