We have a vacancy for an Operations Accountant at our head office in Syston. As the business continues to expand, there is an increased need for focused financial support, control and challenge within the operational areas of our business. This role will be required to work in partnership with the operational teams in order to ensure optimum profitability and growth for the business. The role represents an exciting opportunity to have a significant impact on the company’s future business plans, growth performance and overall profitability. Key responsibilities of the role will include; • • • • • • • • • • • •



To undertake commercial analysis of financial and other information for the business and to identify and help implement actions to address highlighted issues To develop, produce and review KPIs and financial information to ensure that we are consistently improving our performance To attend operational management meetings as a key member of the operational management team To review and challenge the operational cost base and identify areas for efficiencies To own and develop the existing budgeting and forecasting processes for operational elements of the business To take responsibility for specific projects to support the development of the division (both financial and nonfinancial) To help monitor and identify trends in both customers and products and coordinate appropriate actions to address issues or maximise opportunities To provide analytical support for, the development of new business areas/products, asset management and efficiency and infrastructure development To highlight underperforming activities and support operational management to ensure that a performance plan is put in place To monitor the return on capital employed performance for each business unit and/or project, and take appropriate action where applicable To undertake any other analysis/projects as required by the Finance Director or as directed by a senior manager from within the operational business units Work closely with the wider commercial finance team to ensure a joined up, collaborative approach to finance related strategy within the business, including carrying out post investment appraisal analysis on key new customers Work closely with the reporting team to develop reports using a business intelligence system, beyond Excel spreadsheets

What do we want from you? • • • • • • • • • • •

Qualified to degree level Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years PQE in Industry Experience of operating at a commercial/management level Knowledge in working with ERP applications Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling Experience of Power BI, Qlikview, Cognos or other similar reporting packages is an advantage Good questioning and listening skills Ability to work autonomously Fluent written and verbal communication skills Have excellent time management skills Ability to present at all levels within a business
