Dear Neighbour, Crossrail Programme – Shenfield - Temporary Christmas Closure of Woodway Bridge Network Rail is undertaking essential improvement works in your area as part of the Crossrail Programme. The new railway will link Reading and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east, via new tunnels under central London, and will be known as the Elizabeth line. During the Christmas period there is a large amount of work planned in the vicinity of Shenfield station to construct a new railway junction layout and renew the majority of the track in the area. The following information is in relation to a temporary road closure in your area.

Date and Time 2330hours 24 December 2016 To 2330hours 2 January 2017

Description of works Woodway Bridge Closure The road bridge over the railway at Woodway will be closed to motor vehicles and motorbikes from Christmas Eve though to the night of 2 January. Pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will still be allowed access. The closure is in relation to the extensive improvement works being undertaken throughout the Christmas period on the railway below. Our site team will be using heavy machinery in close proximity to the foundations of the bridge and it will be closed to vehicles for safety reasons. Advance notice information signs will be in place advising road users of the closure.

The local highways authority has been, and will continue to be, consulted throughout the progress of our works.
