A newsletter for Families Involved In our School Home

Dear Prince of Peace School Friends, It is hard to believe that this school year is coming to an end. Our children are busy talking about "New Life", exploring caterpillars that turn into butterflies, and preparing to say farewell to teachers, staff, and friends. As a parent, I feel such joy that our children have had this past year in such a nurturing and imaginative place, but also feel sad that the year is coming to a close. We are thankful for such a wonderful place that we will miss over the summer or as we move on to other schools. Danita Lynch and I (Christina Caporale) have enjoyed getting to know you and your families. We feel blessed to have been able to help our "School Home" in special ways. I want to thank all of you for helping the school and our school families this past year. It has been an honor to serve as co-chair for FISH. Looking back, as a community, FISH has been able to help the school and families get books through the Scholastic Reading Club Program, gain classroom and playground equipment through the Box Tops and Labels for Education, help families in need by preparing meals, serve our community through donations of books, coats, baby/children's items. FISH also offers a video lending library, we decorate the front hall calendar, and form bonding friendships by working together. A special heartfelt thank you to our committee chairs and the many volunteers that supported these efforts: AngelFISH: Caroline Gentry SunshineFISH: Mary Tessier DVD Lending Library: Anne Baird Calendar/Bulletin Board: Danielle St. Clair Scholastic Books: Lauren Barber FISHTales: Becky Barclay Box Tops/Labels for Education: Christina Caporale Our last hurrah for the end of the year is a “Thank You” to the teachers and staff of Prince of Peace. Teacher's Appreciation Week begins on May 2. Please be on the lookout for special ways you can honor the caring people of Prince of Peace School. Mary Tessier is leading this effort as part of the SunshineFISH committee. Please reach out to her or Danita and myself if you are interested in more information. Have a wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing you in the Fall. Blessings, Danita Lynch and Christina Caporale

If you have any contributions for either of these Programs, please deposit your clipped labels in the boxes located in the school (front hall, near the DVD lending library, and in the Narthex of the church). May is double points month for Labels for Education so I plan to tally our labels and postmark by the end of May to get as many points as possible. Don't forget to continue to collect over the summer. If you are interested in getting rid of labels prior to the start of school please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected]. Thank you for your contributions.
