July Newsletter June Newsletter Dear Grace Youth Parents, I’m not sure about you, but we’ve been loving summer so far at Grace Youth! And what’s not to love when you’re eating tons of ice cream every week at the Summer Hangouts on Wednesday nights?! I have loved the community that has continued throughout the summer. Every June, as the school year winds down, I’m always unsure of how much students will stay connected to each other amidst vacations, camps, travel, and work. However, this year, the summer has been so refreshing. Each Wednesday night at our Summer Hangouts, whether we’re at Wally’s getting frozen custard or at the park playing kickball, there have been familiar friends, new faces, and continued community. It’s great! It’s been a necessary reminder to me that ministry and “church” doesn’t always need to be a big production, 5-point-sermon, and an organized plan. Sometimes, church as Jesus intended it is gathering a bunch of students together at the local ice cream store for some fro-yo, laughs, and selfies! It’s authentic community, it’s simple memories being made, and it’s much needed this time of year. I hope to see your student at the next Summer Hangout!

Upcoming Events + Announcements

Don't say goodbye just because it's summer! Join us Wednesday nights throughout June & July at 7-8PM for low-key fellowship and community. We’re on a mission to eat as much ice cream as we can and play some crazy games of Frisbee and kickball! Since we want to be an example to people outside the walls of Grace, we will be meeting off-site. Please note: If we are meeting at a location that serves food/drink, please bring a few dollars if you wish to purchase something. Refer to the schedule to the right, or visit gracewired.com/graceyouthstudents for more information.

Meet the Interns! Since June, Grace Youth has been blessed and excited to work with two youth interns throughout the summer! Sophia Groβ is joining us from Germany and will be interning through the beginning of July. Vivian Liagre, a senior at Grosse Pointe North, will be interning through the beginning of August. Say hello to them if you see them around!
