To develop leaders through participation in community awareness sessions and activities designed to encourage participation in an active leadership role to benefit the future vitality of the greater Rochester area.
Program Overview
Course Schedule
The Leadership Greater Rochester program is a comprehensive eight session program, provided by the Leadership Greater Rochester organization, that will meet once a month from September through May at various locations in the greater Rochester area beginning in 2017.
September SESSION 1 – WELCOME DAY October SESSION 2 – CITY GOVERNMENT November SESSION 3 – EDUCATION December NO SESSION January SESSION 4 – ARTS & CULTURE February SESSION 5 – HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES March SESSION 6 – CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY April SESSION 7 - ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT & ENVIRONMENT May SESSION 8 – NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS GRADUATION
Each session will take place from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and will include breakfast followed by a 3 hour program. Registration is at 8:15 am. Experiential assignments will be assigned at each session to be conducted prior to the next session. Class sessions cover all topics crucial to running a community. Signature topics vary from City government, education, healthcare, judicial and more, with sessions that provide opportunities for participants to meet many community leaders including local and state officials as well as tours of various facilities. Tuition of $500 may be paid by the participant or their employer. Applications are due by the last Friday in May.
