(Children share). Why do we obey rules? (children share). When we obey rules , we show God we love him. The Bible tells us about God’s rules. Last week we talked about the 10 Commandments. (children share)  What are some things that are nice to have but you do not need to live? (children share)  Explain what a need is. We need food to stay alive, but we don’t need legos to stay alive. We need clothing to protect us and keep us warm but we do not need a necklace to keep warm . It is a nice thing to have but not necessary to stay alive. God shows the hungry and thirsty Israelites that they can trust him to provide for their needs.  STORY:  This story takes place when Moses leads the Israelites out of Egypt to their new home. They have to travel a very long way. So long that it takes them 40 years to get there! Moses led the people out of Egypt when they were in danger and got them to safety. God told Moses to take his people to a special new home. They had to walk a long way. They walked around for 40 years! Let’s read the story from the Bible (Read from the Bible in the class basket).  Did you hear all of the good things that God provided for the Israelites on their long journey? The people from the Bible did not have grocery stores to buy food. They were traveling in the desert where there is no water. There weren’t any places to stop and buy water or any houses where they could stay. They were scared and thought they were going to starve in the desert but God showed them he can do anything! He is all powerful and we can trust him to give us all we need. What are the three things that God gave to the people? (Children share). Show a picture of a quail and the seeds that look like manna.
