SERMON NOTES

Limitless

Tying the Hands of God Challenge Your Limits Pastor Carl Toti - September 30 - October 1, 2017

Psalm 78:41 (KJV) Yea, they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel. Mark 6:1-6 (NLT) Jesus left that part of the country and returned with his disciples to Nazareth, his hometown. 2 The next Sabbath he began teaching in the synagogue, and many who heard him were amazed. They asked, “Where did he get all this wisdom and the power to perform such miracles?” 3 Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. 4 Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” 5 And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 And he was amazed at their unbelief. Then Jesus went from village to village, teaching the people. THE W__________ Mark 6:3 “…He’s just a carpenter…” Jesus is our divine carpenter! 1. He laid the foundations of this world. 2. He is building His church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. 3. He said, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up!” Speaking of his death and resurrection. 4. He has gone to prepare a place for us in glory building us an eternal home. “In My Father’s house…” What needs to be rebuilt in your life? THE W__________ UP Mark 6:3 Then they scoffed, “He’s just a carpenter, the son of Mary and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon. And his sisters live right here among us.” They were deeply offended and refused to believe in him. MORE CHRISTIANS DISQUALIFY THEMSELVES FOR GOD’S SERVICE OVER AN OFFENSE THAN IMMORAL BEHAVIOR. Luke 17:1 (NKJV) Then He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! Psalm 119:165 (KJV) Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. Satan’s Beatitudes “Blessed are they who are bored with the minister’s mannerisms and mistakes; for they get nothing out of the sermon. Blessed are they who are not interested in the affairs of the church; for they cause the world to say, ‘The church is failing.’ Blessed are they who gossip; for they cause strife and division which pleases me very much. Blessed are they who are easily offended; for they soon get angry and quit.

Blessed is he who professes to love God but hates his brother; for he shall be with me forever. Blessed are the troublemakers; for they shall be called the children of the devil. Blessed is he who has no time to pray; for he shall be easy prey.” —Satan Encyclopedia of 15,000 Illustrations: Signs of the Times. THE W__________ Mark 6:4-6 (NLT) Then Jesus told them, “A prophet is honored everywhere except in his own hometown and among his relatives and his own family.” 5 And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. 6 And he was amazed at their unbelief. Then Jesus went from village to village, teaching the people.
