LIVING ROOMS, DINING ROOMS, BEDROOMS, AND BATHROOMS THIS IS US, #3 Pastor Dennis Clanton Woodland Church Sunday, February 25, 2018 “How joyful are those who fear the LORD— all who follow his ways! You will enjoy the fruit of your labor. How joyful and prosperous you will be! Your wife will be like a fruitful grapevine, flourishing within your home. Your children will be like vigorous young olive trees as they sit around your table. That is the LORD’s blessing for those who fear him. May the LORD continually bless you from Zion. May you see Jerusalem prosper as long as you live. May you live to enjoy your grandchildren. May Israel have peace!” (Psalm 128, NLT) 1. HAVE FUN IN THE FAMILY ROOM. “I recommend having fun, because there is nothing better for people in this world than to eat, drink, and enjoy life. That way they will experience some happiness along with all the hard work God gives them under the sun.” (Ecclesiastes 8:15, NLT) “When people live to be very old, let them rejoice in every day of life.” (Ecclesiastes 11:8, NLT) “Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him.” (Psalm 127:3, NLT) “Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people.” (Luke 2:52, NLT) 2. NOURISH THEM IN THE DINING ROOM. “Lazarus and his sisters invited Jesus to dinner at their home. Martha served. Lazarus was one of those sitting at the table with them.” (John 12:2, Message) “He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19, NLT)

“If you plan to do evil, you will be lost; if you plan to do good, you will receive unfailing love and faithfulness.” (Proverbs 14:22, NLT) 3. RESPECT THE SANCTITY OF THE BEDROOM. “Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.” (Deuteronomy 6:7, NLT) “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10, NLT) “While I was at the window of my house, looking through the curtain, I saw some naive young men, and one in particular who lacked common sense. He was crossing the street near the house of an immoral woman, strolling down the path by her house. It was at twilight, in the evening, as deep darkness fell.” (Proverbs 7:6–9, NLT) “Enjoy the wife you married as a young man! Lovely as an angel, beautiful as a rose— don’t ever quit taking delight in her body. Never take her love for granted!” (Proverbs 5:18–19, The Message) 4. EVERYONE NEEDS A SHOWER! “Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus.” (Ephesians 2:7, The Message) “[Love] is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.” (1 Corinthians 13:5, NLT) “If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.” (Matthew 18:15, NLT) “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.” (Matthew 18:35, NLT)
