We are identified as children of God in the here and now, but God also promises His children a hope-filled future as well. Verses 2-3 say, “But we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who thus hopes in Him purifies Himself as He is pure.” This means that hope is what is promised when Jesus appears – He is returning to take away sin, to wipe away every tear, to give us heavenly bodies, and to usher in a new heaven and a new earth. Is your life being transformed by this kind of hope? Mark where you are below.
