Unique in Scotland to Robert Gordon University, the 48 week internship in third year is a fantastic opportunity for students to gain practical, professional experience in busy business environments. Students earn a salary during this year and pay reduced course fees. The Aberdeen Business School Placement Office offers continued support to help students find internships, and offer CV advice and mock job interviews.
ICRGU offers first year entry into the BA (Hons) degrees from Robert Gordon University. Students will commence the first year of the course, on campus, in the supportive environment of ICRGU, studying modules developed in close collaboration with Aberdeen Business School. Students will then progress onto the second year at Robert Gordon University. Progression is assured, as long as the minimum pass marks are achieved within the first year at ICRGU.
This is an excellent chance to build a strong knowledge base, and increase contacts and networking opportunities that can prove valuable towards future career prospects. Throughout this credit-bearing placement, students must also continue developing their academic knowledge with two carefully developed modules.

BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance Robert Gordon University’s degree in Accounting and Finance is carefully developed to ensure that students become well–rounded, professional and highly employable accountants. By offering a dynamic combination of accounting, finance and management subjects, the university has developed a course that is truly effective for the accountancy and finance professions. Robert Gordon University offers the only Accounting and Finance degree in Scotland with the opportunity to take part in a yearlong salaried work placement. During this, students will also take two modules including The Theory of Auditing and The Practice of Auditing to support their practical experience. The university teaching staff on accounting modules are Chartered Accountants, many of whom qualified with a Big Four firm: Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
This course is fully accredited by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and students can also qualify for up to eight exemptions from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The course is also fully accredited by:
