About the role This is a permanent full time position located in Brisbane’s West End. Reporting to the Dean of SAE Australasia, the Curriculum Manager has responsibility for the development, project management and quality assurance for SAE Creative Media, Higher Education and VET curriculum. The role works alongside senior academic and discipline leadership to author curriculum documentation which aligns to SAE Policy, the Australian Qualifications Framework and other legislation relevant to vocational and higher education. The person we seek will ideally have the following:
AQF9 Qualification in Education or equivalent experience in adult education; 3 years of curriculum development experience in either a VET or HE provider; Project management experience; APA referencing; High-level English language proficiency with experience in technical writing; Curriculum Design & Assessment Design; HE Accreditation Experience; VET Program Development.

Primary Objective/s: The Curriculum Manager has responsibility for the development, project management,, and quality assurance for SAE Creative Media, Higher Education and VET curriculum. The role works alongside senior academic and discipline leadership to author curriculum documentation which aligns to SAE Policy, the Australian Qualifications Framework and other legislation relevant to vocational and higher education. Core functions of the curriculum manager include; ● ● ● ●
Project Management - coordinating the curriculum development process, including managing internal and external stakeholders. Curriculum Authorship - developing curriculum documentation in line with SAE’s policies and procedures Implementation Support - working with Learning Designers and Senior Academics to develop implementation strategies for new curriculum Quality Assurance - maintain the quality of all SAE curriculum documentation and coordinate the cycle of review and improvement activities for SAE curriculum.
The National Curriculum Manager position will assist our Australasian portfolio though will be based at our Brisbane campus. The role is a permanent fulltime position.
Key Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of this role include the following: ● ● ● ● ● ●
Manage the development of the new curriculum at SAE; Ensure the quality of existing curriculum documentation; Apply SAE Policy & Procedure to the development and quality assurance of SAE Curriculum; Develop curriculum accreditation materials for higher education and VET programs; Liaise with subject matter experts in the design of curriculum; Constructively align SAE curriculum to the AQF and SAE Policy and Procedure.
Person Specification: Qualifications & Experience – ● AQF9 Qualification in Education or equivalent experience in adult education; ● 3 years of curriculum development experience in either a VET or HE provider. Demonstrable experience in curriculum design in either HE or VET programs, leading to successful accreditation outcomes and student outcomes. Knowledge of contemporary assessment design and pedagogical practices, evidenced by previous professional experience. Evidence of formal project management involving internal and external parties.
