SPECIAL TOWN HALL MEETING The Board of Directors would like to invite all of the Wildhorse residents to a Special Town Hall Meeting to talk about modifying the governing documents to include a fence policy.  The BOD is very concerned about maintaining the look our neighborhood as it ages.  Currently the governing documents only cover the maintenance of the masonry wall along Braun Road as the HOA’s responsibility.  As such, the Board has developed a comprehensive fence policy that identifies some additional fencing areas along the Wildhorse Parkway that is not currently covered under the HOA’s governing documents.  As beautification is a priority of the board, this fencing policy has been a work-in-progress since we took office.   A draft of this policy is now complete and we would like to review it with the homeowners. The board has also interviewed potential “preferred” vendors and requested bids to perform work on the fences.  The Special Town Hall Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 20th, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.  Please email the board any questions you may have before the meeting so we can be prepared to answer them.  Remember this Special Meeting will be addressing the Fence Policy only.  The board is currently looking at times and dates for an “open” Town Hall meeting and the Annual Meeting.

Wildhorse Pools & Swim Team The Wildhorse Board of Directors would like to inform residents that the pool is open with a new schedule.  The Board of Directors has voted on having Pool Attendants instead of lifeguards this year to assist in enforcing the pool rules, to monitor those who use the pools, and to reduce vandalism.  If you chose to use the pool it is a SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK at all times.  When you first enter the pool area, please be prepared to show the pool attendant your Wildhorse Pool Card with your NEW WH09 sticker on it. If you have not received your sticker, please bring your Pool Release and indemnification Document and a proof of residence (i.e. State ID) with you to one of the pool areas. Forms are also available at both pools. The attendant will verify your name, address, and pool card number. Only members in good standing with the HOA will receive WH09 stickers; all others will be asked to contact Spectrum. If you are unsure of your status then please call Spectrum at 494-0659. Wildhorse will continue to have a Swim Team this year and the BOD has worked very hard with the swim team to try and accommodate both the residents and the swim team.  We are sending out this notice in advance so you will know what the swim team schedule will be and you can plan your swim times accordingly. Please see the posting of 2009 Wildhorse Pool Hours advertised in this newsletter and posted at the pools for the times and locations of where the swim team will be practicing. Thank you for your willingness to share our amenities with the children of our community.  Copyright © 2009 Peel, Inc.

Social Committee Spotlight

Safety Committee Corner

The Wildhorse Social Committee would like to extend our appreciation to all of the volunteers that helped make our neighborhood egg hunt a huge success. The children had a great time picking up over 3,000 eggs, playing games, and petting all of the baby animals. Special thanks to Fiesta Farms for bringing the baby goats, chicks, pigs, rabbits and llama for the children to pet during the hunt. Since neighborhood participation is continuing to grow we would like to expand on future egg hunts. So, if you have any spare eggs you would like to donate please contact us; we would love to take them off of your hands.  Hopefully the month of May will bring us some much needed rain to help prepare our yards for the upcoming Yard of the Month competition. This year we will be awarding a $50.00 prize to the winner’s in the months of May, June, and July. If you or your neighbor’s yard is looking great please send us the street address via email so they may be considered.  Lastly, the Social Committee is volunteer based and we cannot host events without all of our great help. If you would like to get involved please contact us at [email protected].

The Safety Committee is currently looking for ideas, vendors, and volunteers to help coordinate a Health and Safety Fair. If you are interested in assisting with this, please send your name and contact information to [email protected]. REMINDER: Summer is here and this is an increase time for vandalism and theft in our neighborhood. To help prevent vandalism and theft in your area please do the following: Close your garage doors when you are not in the garage, Keep your outside lights on after dark to keep your house lit, and Report any suspicious behavior to Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at either the Non-Emergency Sheriff’s Dispatch 24-Hour Number 210-335-6000 or dial 911 for emergencies. The Safety Committee would like to remind residents that there is no overnight parking at the pools or common areas; all vehicles parked overnight will be towed. With the large amounts of residents parking on the street and the increased number of children playing in the area please drive slowly through the community. Children can dart out between parked cars and not see you coming. Please both parents and drivers keep an eye on children playing in the area.

cations i n u m m o C date p U e e t t i Comm Hello Wildhorse - Last month was our first issue for 2009.  As we are working with a new publisher, there are still a few kinks to work out.  We discovered that some of the addresses did not make it onto the listing.  It was investigated by our management association and we should be working with an updated list.  If you did not receive your copy last month, we apologize!  If you would like to view the April issue online, please log onto www.peelinc.com.  Click the link to “View Newsletters” then choose our community. We are looking forward to more news as the summer months approach.  As school lets out, interested teens may participate in the Teen Job Seeker column.  Email your name, phone number and job seeking area to [email protected].  The available areas are babysitting, pet sitting, house sitting or yard work.  As a precautionary measure to protect our minors, this column will not be available in the online version of our newsletter. Don’t forget to email any article submissions to us by the 15th of each month. ~ Marilyn Sibblies, Communications Chair.
