Annual Meeting Update After several attempts to have an annual meeting, quorum was finally reached at the May meeting. At this meeting, several of our neighbors took the time to nominate themselves or others for a board of directors’ position. Two of our previous board members, Chris Winnier and RobinWatts, were re-elected for another term. Three new board members were also selected: Tyler Horner, Enrique Yanes and Stephen Swisher. Congratulations to our new board. Look for more information regarding our board members in future newsletters.

Superstreet Meeting Update

by Kelli Ault The Alamo Regional Mobility Authority presented their plans regarding a superstreet for Braun Road. If you missed the informational meeting, please visit the website www. alamorma.org/1604SuperStreet.html to view the powerpoint presentation. The schematics for the new road designs are also available for viewing on the web site. It was confirmed that Loop 1604 itself (at Braun Road) is going to be relined into three lanes going straight through as opposed to the two that currently exist. They will still have the dedicated turn lanes, both left and right, to move more traffic through the lights. The Alamo RMA agrees with the general idea that freeway overpasses are required; however, the construction of these overpasses is allegedly too costly right now. They feel the 7 million dollars being spent on the current plan is justified and "at least they are doing something, rather than nothing" as the city commissioner stated. All projects should be started by January 2011 and are forecast for completion in August 2011.

Yard of the Month The YARD OF THE MONTH contest runs from May through July. The current month’s winner will receive a sign in their yard announcing they have the Yard of the Month as well as recognition in our newsletter. Feel free to nominate yourself or your neighbor’s yard by the 23rd of each month. The YARD OF THE MONTH qualities should include the overall landscaping and presentation of the front yard – lawn, garden, trees, flowers, etc. Please e-mail nominations to [email protected]. Thank you in advance for your participation. Wildhorse Messenger - July 2010

WILDHORSE Pool Opening Luau

Was A Great Success!

On Saturday, June 5th the Wildhorse Pool committee hosted a luau for the community to usher in the start of Summer 2010. With sights and sounds straight from Polynesia, fun was had by kids of all ages. Guests were ate Hawaiian-inspired food and entertained by authentic Hawaiian dancers at our tiki-lit Sports Park Pool. The pool committee would like to give special thanks to the Wldhorse Social and Recreation committees in addition to all those who volunteered to make this a memorable night for all who attended.

Summer Is Here!

Healthier Recipes Tips Summer is here. That means summer Barbecue in the great outdoors and enjoying the company of family and friends. There are all kinds of tasty foods to grill up, plus those sides, desserts and drinks that round out the meal.  Unfortunately, this leads to an influx of excess calories and weight gain. There goes your beach body that you worked so hard for. Here are some simple barbecue alternative recipes that can help keep you lean and healthy through the summer season when grilling.

• Green leaf lettuce • 4 Whole grain hamburger buns • 2 Grilled medium onion, sliced

Grilled Veggie Burger • 4 Garden Veggie burger patties • 2 Medium red vine tomatoes, sliced • 2 Dill pickles, sliced • 1 Bottle of mustard, ketchup, and/or light factSheet_ad_half.pdf 6/25/2009 2:24:33 PM mayonnaise * use sparingly

Grilled Vegetable Kabobs • 2 zucchini • 1 red and 1 yellow bell pepper • 1 onion • 12 oz halved mushrooms • 4 skewers

Grilled Soy Hot Dogs • 4 Yves meatless hot dogs • 1 Bottle of mustard and/or ketchup * use sparingly • 1 Can of Amy’s vegetarian chili • ½ Cup of dill pickle chopped • 4 Whole or sprouted grain hot dog buns • 1 Medium red vine tomato, diced • 1 Medium sweet onion, diced

How to Set a List Price for Your Home If you set the price too high, your house won’t be picked for viewing, even though it may be much nicer than other homes on the street. Compared to other houses for sale, your home simply looks too expensive to be considered. If you price too low, your house will sell promptly, yes, but you may make less on the sale than if you had set a higher price and waited for a buyer who was willing to pay it.

So what do you do? Call me. As an experienced professional I will sit down with you and help you set your list price based on: x x x x x
