“ANCHORED” October 25th 6:30-8:30 p.m. We will meet the last Thursday of each month in the LEC. All Women are welcome to join.

Wednesday, October 31, 2018 5:30 - 7:00 P.M.

This is a wonderful time of fellowship, fun and games as well as an in-depth Bible study into God’s Word. We will study the names of God, and this month’s focus will be on Jehovah Raah (the Lord our Shepherd). Come join us to learn how He is our confidence as women and how to find true rest in our souls.

HOMEBOUND MEMBER OF THE WEEK Edith Bain P.O. Box 103 Caroleen, NC 28019

PREACHER B’S BE-ATTITUDES Upward Evaluations are this week: Tuesday, October 16, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 20, 9:00-10:00 a.m. What has Upward meant to Florence Church over the years? Upward gives children a safe, secure place to play and have fun. Upward gives children of all skill levels a chance to play. Every child gets equal playing time, and every child gets to start. Upward means excitement in the eyes of children. Upward means teaching basketball skills and cheering skills and in the process children gaining confidence. Upward means fantastic Saturday game days. Game days are days when parents and grandparents, brothers and sisters, friends and families all come together to cheer on our children. And we have food! Upward means churches working together around a common goal. The relationship between Florence and Second Baptist, Rutherfordton is important and vital, but many churches are involved. Upward is a host of volunteers working together-coaches, referees, score and time keepers, concession stand workers, those who share devotions, those who set up and clean up, deacons and staff. It is a real team effort. Upward is sharing the Gospel at every practice and every game. It is planting seeds that will bear fruit in God’s time. And finally, Upward is making memories for a lifetime. I still remember playing RA Baseball and Basketball. I still remember my coaches and my teammates. I don’t so much remember wins and losses as much as I remember that the Elizabeth Baptist Church gave me a chance to play and have fun, and Tom Walters and many others invested in my life. I have no doubt that many of our children will look back and say, “I remember when I played Upward at Florence Baptist Church, and we had so much fun!” “Lord, we commit this brand new season to your honor and glory and to our precious children!” Preacher B

Junior G.L.O.W. Team The Junior G.L.O.W. Team meets at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday Evenings!

Description: Our class is a group of diverse people. We are not all of the same gender, age, economic or social status. We do not share the same hobbies or education, and we do not share the same level of spiritual maturity. Rather, the common bond that unites us is Jesus Christ. Jesus is who makes us not so different from each other. Jesus is who takes this diverse group of people and makes us family. Our love for one another is undeniable and remarkable. Our friendships with each other run deep; our love for each other runs deeper, and our doors for you to join our family are swung wide open. God’s Word is central in all of our discussions and we do not approach it carelessly. We know the Bible contains God’s Word of eternal life, and we seek to hear those words with understanding and allow them to penetrate our hearts and change our lives. You’re invited to our party! We’d love to have you join us!

Week of Caring Rutherford Housing Partnership along with United Way have a Week of Caring each year the last week in October. The dates for this year will be October 22nd through the 27th. RHP has contacted Florence asking if we can help again this year. Several construction projects need a team to tackle them. If you can help any of these days, please contact Chester Melton at 429-0860.
