A MESSAGE FROM RON MOORE We’re excited to have you here at The Bible Chapel, and feel privileged to be a part of God’s great work that he’s doing through our church. We’re also thankful that you’re interested in learning more about us. Since being founded in 1964, God has grown us from a small Bible study to a community of over 3,500 individuals at all stages of the spiritual journey. The Bible Chapel is an independent non-denominational Bible church, and our desire is to meet you wherever you are on your journey to help you develop as a follower of Jesus Christ. We hold the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God – the final authority for life and living. We believe that a relationship with the living God is found by grace through faith in Christ alone, and that God has designed the church to be a community where worship, serving, caring and friendships take place. You’ve taken the first steps to discovering what God is doing through the ministries and people at The Bible Chapel, and we’d love to meet with you one-on-one! We encourage you to visit Starting Point to talk with someone, or get connected to one of our many pastors on our staff who would love to talk with you about what God is doing among his people at The Bible Chapel and to help you navigate your next steps. In Christ,

Dr. Ronald D. Moore Senior Pastor 1

YOU ARE WELCOME HERE We’re excited to meet you wherever you are in your life, and whatever your faith experience has been. We have many ways for you to meet people and grow, and ministries for everyone in your family. No matter which campus you attend, our mission is the same: We exist to develop followers of Jesus Christ in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, in the Greater Pittsburgh area, and throughout the world. The word “develop” reminds us that the spiritual life is a journey. Develop means “to bring to reality” and “to make stronger.” Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, we want to help you “to bring to reality” a relationship with Jesus Christ or “to make stronger” that relationship. We believe there are five important ways a believer can grow spiritually, and we offer ministries and events for all of these areas year-round. We call them the five essentials. WORD

Hear from God by reading and studying Scripture.

WORSHIP Praise our creator through private and corporate worship,

including prayer, singing, music, dancing, and drama.

CONNECT Do life together with other believers. The Christian life

wasn’t meant to be lived solo.

Help others, and be helped, by using your God-given gifts

and talents to serve the kingdom and show Christ’s light to

a watching world.

Spread the Gospel near and far, to your family, friends,

neighbors, co-workers, and people around our nation

and world. 2

BEYOND THESE WALLS WHAT IS BEYOND THESE WALLS? In Acts 1:8, Christ calls us to go into all the world to be his witnesses. Beyond These Walls (BTW) is the way that we do exactly that. BTW initiatives have been the catalyst for visionary projects and ministry work over the past ten years. Our categories of project initiatives are Home (Jerusalem), Community (Judea), National (Samaria), and International (ends of the Earth). Over the years, BTW has produced fruit such as all of our multi-site campuses; our Special Needs, College, Young Adult, Older Adult, and Sports Ministries; the South Hills Campus’ Children’s Ministry expansion; our partnerships with Word of Life in Panama and AIC Zion in Kenya; and our partnerships with national organizations such as Human Coalition and Back to the Bible. WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? As Christians, we are called to expand Christ’s kingdom in the way he enabled us to do it: by going out into our communities and world with the power of the Holy Spirit, and showing Christ’s love to the people we find there. That’s why BTW matters so much - it enables us to be an even greater witness for Christ in our communities and world. HOW DO I GET INVOLVED? PRAY - Philippians 4:6-7 Join our BTW prayer team, and engage in conversation with the Lord about Beyond These Walls initiatives, opportunities, partnerships, and more. SERVE - Joshua 24:15 If you love to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community, please consider signing up to serve. GIVE - 1 Chronicles 29:10-14 Every gift matters, no matter the size. From the widow’s mite to the largest amount, God uses your financial contributions to do mighty things for the kingdom. For more information, visit or call 724-941-8990.

Three times each year, we come together in corporate worship to celebrate the wonderful work that God is doing through our church and its people. These are called Celebration Services, and they occur during our regular weekend service times and include baptisms, child dedications, new member recognition, mission trip commissioning, 50-year wedding anniversary celebrations, and more! BAPTISM If you are considering being baptized, we would love to help you take this step. We baptize adults and students in fourth grade and older. For more information, email [email protected]. CHILD DEDICATION At The Bible Chapel, we believe that baptism is a choice that a believer can make once he or she has trusted in Christ. For this reason, we do not baptize infants or children through age nine, but we do joyfully dedicate them to the Lord. Email [email protected]. MEMBERSHIP Membership at The Bible Chapel is about belonging to a family of believers and committing to the church - the body of Christ. As a member of The Bible Chapel, you agree to take ownership of our mission to develop followers of Jesus Christ, and of your own growth as a Christian. To begin your membership journey, email [email protected]. 50-YEAR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY We highly value the institution of marriage, and want to celebrate when God brings a couple to a 50-year anniversary! If you or someone you know will be celebrating 50 years of marriage soon, email [email protected] to be included as part of our next Celebration Service! 19
