Island WiFi by Bay Gardens Resorts
The locally owned and operated award-winning resort chain, Bay Gardens Resorts in St. Lucia,
has introduced an innovative new service for guests who want to stay connected on the go: “Island WiFi”.
The popular and forwardthinking resort chain has been the first to offer many new initiatives in the Caribbean, which include their “The Taste of Rodney Bay” Dine around Program, which has been credited with reinventing the All Inclusive concept. The resort chain also introduced the Caribbean’s first ever openwater sports park, Splash Island Water Park in August 2015 and has now introducing Island WiFi, a portable wireless device that will provide guests with an island wide connection for sharing pictures on popular sites like Facebook or Instagram, browsing the world wide web, take instant videos to share on Snapchat or even just
staying in contact with popular messaging apps like Whatsapp. As long as it requires a data
connection, Island WiFi by Bay Gardens Resorts will be there to provide it.
This new feature gives guests the opportunity to share the beautiful sights and sounds of Saint Lucia when going on tours or visiting popular attractions. It also helps with keeping them entertained on long drives from the airport. This can be a big help with guests who have kids as the device can also be used to provide connections for games, YouTube and Netflix. The savings alone on data-roaming charges is a significant benefit for those who love to share their travel experiences with family and friends. Guests who wish to use this feature can request an IslandWifi device during their check-in process or with the pre-arrival concierge service. One portable
wireless device will allow for up to 10 connections, permitting guests to use their tablets, cell
phones or portable computers anywhere they desire, as long as there is a signal. The daily cost for this feature is US$10.00 inclusive of taxes per device but guests who book a Bay Gardens Experience directly with the company will receive this service absolutely free. Christmas Program/New Year’s Eve Themes
It’s nearing that festive time once again this year and Bay Gardens Resorts is gearing up for another wonderful holiday season.
The Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa will kick off with a special Christmas Eve Dinner featuring a delectable Caribbean buffet which will include Spiced Bread, Ginger Pumpkin Soup, baked turkey and more. This will be followed by an extraordinary Christmas Day Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, featuring an array of Caribbean and Festive dishes.
To end the year with a bang, the Beach Resort will host a New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner with a themed Black Light event at Hi-Tide Beach Side Restaurant on December 31, 2016. Ninja Warrior/Mannequin Challenge The Caribbean’s ultimate playground, Splash Island Water Park, held its second annual Ninja Warrior Contest on Saturday, November 19, 2016 with great success. Several teams participated in the various events which included Individual Time Trials, Relays and the Ultimate Water Volleyball Tournament. The event was the first on island to be covered with not one but two drones in the air, making for great shots of the thrills and spills of the contest. Kerwin Bisette of Team Sea Adventures had the fastest time in the individual time trials clocking 1 minute and 33 seconds, a new course record. Team Sea Adventures had the best time of 2 minutes 18 seconds in the team relay competition, which also was a new course record. Flow communications Saint Lucia secured the top prize in the water volleyball competition and Team Sea Adventures won the overall competition with an outstanding 35 points, which was double of the 2nd place winners. Prior to kicking off the contest, a few of the contestants participated in the trendy mannequin challenge. This was no easy task as this was the first attempt of this challenge on sea and shot by a Drone for dramatic effects. To see this finished product click our Facebook, YouTube or Instagram pages. Featured Employee - Donald Alexander
Our featured employee for the month of November is Mr. Donald Alexander, bartender at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort & Spa. Donald has been employed with the company for the past three years and enjoys having conversations with everyone he meets. He especially loves the festive Christmas season where he is able to reconnect with returning guests reflecting of past experiences and creating new memories with his new-found friends.
Although Mr. Alexander has a very energetic and fun demeanor he admits that he is actually a secretly shy person and loves relaxing at home with family or at the beach when off duty. He enjoys the skill of mixology and is very enthusiastic about the possibility of having more friendly competitions amongst colleagues’ with guest forming the judging panel. With his friendly personality and infectious smile Mr. Alexander is a great asset to our team.

Recipe of the Month - Mango Splash
INGREDIENTS 1.5 oz Mango Mix 1.5 oz Orange Juice 1.5 oz Coconut Cream 1.5 oz Rum 1 oz Peach Tree 1 cup Ice GARNISH 1
METHOD 1. In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend for 30 seconds. 2. Pour mixture into a cocktail glass and garnish with orange slice.
