No School Monday There will be No School on Monday October 9th, in observance of Columbus Day. Classes will resume Tuesday, October 10th.

2nd Grade DI Night – October 10th This is an amazing opportunity to invest and educate you in our DI program. This is for any parent that has a scholar in the second grade DI program. Teachers will be modeling what first grade DI looks and sounds like. Teachers will discuss homework, binder/ folders, rotations, number of lessons in each component (R,L,M), what mastery looks like, when are check outs given, thermometers charts, teacher/student game, signals, workbook expectations, DIBELS and importance of attendance. Teachers will also discuss the importance of finishing the program so that students are on grade level by EOY. There will be 3 rotations of 20 minutes each. The fourth classroom will house all the scholars so that you get to focus on the main components of DI.

Picture Retake Day – October 16th

If your scholar was absent during the original picture day we will have retakes on Monday, October 16th. Please make sure scholar is in full IDEA uniform. Order forms will be available at the front office. You can also place order online at Strawbridge.net using code 111737. To add your scholars name to the list for retakes please contact the front office. .

Report Card Pick up night – October 18th Parents Report card pick up night will not be a regular dismissal day, scholars will not be dismissed from usual designated spots. Parents will need to pick up scholar from their homeroom to sign for report card. If your scholar attends the after school program Be A Champion or Boys & Girls club and you are not able to attend Report card pick up night, you will need to schedule a conference with your scholars teacher to obtain your scholars report card. During this time you are encouraged to sign up for a parent conference if you have questions on your scholar’s report card, teachers will have a sign-up sheet available.

Testing Dates Parents it is very important for scholars to be at school every day, and even most importantly during test days. Please try to schedule appointments after 10am, and please refrain from checking out your scholar early on the listed testing days.

Team & Family Rally Team & Family Rally is a time for celebration, your scholar gets to participate in the acknowledgement of scholar and teacher successes. They will also participate in a Grade level cheer competition for the Carver Spirt stick along with other fun activities. It is very important for scholars to arrive on time for the rally so that they are able to participate in all activities with the rest of their classmates. During rally days only, will be sending all kids to the gym at 7:15. Breakfast will be picked up in the gym, at the end of the rally and students will be given time to eat breakfast during first period. We encourage you to drop off scholars at 7:15, so they will not miss out on all the fun.

Parents, As you know we are pushing our children to do better with healthier food options to promote healthier lifestyles so here is a fun way to plan with your children what a plate serving should look like…
