OLMC School Council Meeting August 30, 2016 Members Present: Sister Maria Benedicta, Tim Fletcher, Liz Dapp, Jodi Hubner, Todd Darland, Jonathan Titus, Jim Nies, Sandra Harrington Opening Prayer | Sandra Harrington Principal Report | Sister Maria Benedicta • Attended New Comers Meeting (4-5 New Families Attended) • Rita Deyklen, New Stewardship Director discussed OLMC model with new families • 9-15 Teachers attending Professional Development Day • 9-16 E-Learning Day • Student Council Teachers Mrs. Gardner & Mrs. Lopez • PTO Report • Friday celebrating 60th OLMC with students with cake – no homework night • Spirit wear day Vice-Principal Report | Tim Fletcher • Active Shooter Training – 5th Year Attending • Connected with Guerin Catholic & Lafayette Catholic • What would recovery mode look like? • Included weather training, as well • Making plans to disseminate info to staff & parents Communication Plan Review | Liz Dapp • Utilize committees to document & work toward goals • Document accomplishments • Mid-Year point check-in is November • Council assessment in November • Week before meeting Liz & Jodi will ask if there is anything that we should bring up to Sister & Tim? • Opportunity to bring up items we hear in the school – everyone should continue to keep their ears open and wear their “School Council” hats so that we can all contribute ideas and relevant/hot topics we hear at school. Ideas/Action Items • Todd Idea| School Council in Directory Spot • Tim Idea | Submit Pictures to have School Council Introduced in Bulletin • Liz/Tim | Video Clip of Council Members of Quick Overview of Meetings Determined that Ideas should be converted to action items and assigned to the appropriate committees to be handled and assigned deadlines. All of the aforementioned items were assigned to the Marketing Committee to be handled. These are also to be put into the text of the e-mail with the minutes so that everyone can stay focused on these action items. Committee SMART Goals Broke up into committees to put together measurable goals. Those committees met and are to put their “SMART” Goals into their worksheets and then submit before next meeting.
