BIBLE STUDY

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW

The Men’s Bible Study group welcomes men of all ages for study, conversation and fellowship. Meetings usually take place twice a month on Sunday evenings at 8:00pm in the Library under the leadership of Rev. Love.

3 T’s meets monthly on the Third Tuesday at Ten o’clock in the Library for an informal, drop-in discussion of an exciting and eclectic mix of topics. Contact Jane Mickatavage ([email protected]) or Nancy Steed ([email protected]).

The Wednesday Morning Bible Study group meets every other Wednesday at 8:45am in the Library for scripture reading, exploration and discussion. No previous knowledge necessary! Join us to find out how these ancient texts touch our lives today!

Keenagers are senior adults from our church and the community who gather occasionally to discuss current events and to share memories, fun and food. For more information, please contact Eva Spelman ([email protected]).

NEW MEMBER CLASS If you are interested in joining RPC, you are invited to participate in our upcoming New Member Orientation Class. Together we’ll explore what it means to be Presbyterian, and how to live out our faith as part of this church and community. October 19 and 26 at 11:15am in the Library.

SERMON CONVERSATIONS Do you sometimes wish you could ask the pastor about something you heard in a sermon? Discuss a few of the points that were made? In that case you are invited to join the conversation and reflect on the day’s sermon with that Sunday’s preacher. Dates: Dr. Miller 9/28 and 11/23. Rev. Love 10/12 and 12/7. Join us after the 10am worship service in the Library.

The Women’s Association offers fun and interesting activities such as luncheons, outings and presentations where the women of our church come together to learn from each other, support community causes and build lasting friendships. Stephen Ministry is a confidential care-giving ministry that occasionally hosts presentations that are open to the congregation. Topics have included elder care, grief, and adolescent development. How To “Talk Faith” With Your Child Tuesdays, 9:15 – 10:30am, Westminster Room October 7, 14, 21, 28 and November 4 Do you struggle to explain religious concepts to your children, or feel unprepared for some of their questions about faith? Then this class is for you! This five week class will look at faith development in children and offer thoughtful guidance as you seek to nurture your child in the faith. This class will be co-taught by Dr. John Miller; RPC’s new Dir. Of CE, Rachael Huntley; and RPNS’s new Director, Emma Whitman. CHILD CARE WILL BE AVAILABLE.

BOOK STUDY EVERYTHING BELONGS: The Gift of Contemplative Prayer 7:30pm Monday evenings, Church Library, Sept. 22, 29, Oct. 6, 20, 27 and Nov. 3 Join Rev. Dan Love in this six-week discussion of Richard Rohr’s bestselling book. Rather than being a guide on how to pray, Rohr’s book challenges the reader to live all of life more fully aware of God and God’s presence in and around us all – moving us from being a “circumference people” to people deeply rooted in the center of all.

PAINTING CHURCHES Theater Performance Sunday, Nov. 23, 7:00pm, Assembly Hall A finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in Drama, this play depicts the devastating impact of dementia on a family system. Presented by M&M Productions, a professional theater company that staged Doubt at RPC in 2011.
