SCRIPTURE John 3: 1-12 (NKJV)

The New Birth

3

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler

of the Jews. 2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.” 3

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you,

unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” 4

Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is

old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5

Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is

born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” 9

Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things

be?” 10

Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel,

and do not know these things? 11 Most assuredly, I say to you, We speak what We know and testify what We have seen, and you do not receive Our witness.

PASS ME NOT Pass me not, O gentle Savior, Hear my humble cry, While on others Thou art calling, Do not pass me by. Refrain Savior, Savior, Hear my humble cry; While on others Thou art calling, Do not pass me by. Let me at a throne of mercy Find a sweet relief Kneeling there in deep contrition, Help my un-belief. Trusting only in Thy merit, Would I seek Thy face, Heal my wounded, broken spirit, Save me by Thy grace. Thou the Spring of all my comfort, More than life to me, Whom have I on earth beside Thee? Whom in heav’n but Thee?

“The tenth shall be holy unto the Lord.” Leviticus 27:32

Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we, cheerfully give to God our tithes and offerings. Tithing honors God. Are you giving the Lord His tithes or your tips? The word tithe means to give back to God one tenth of your earnings for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world.

When we celebrate Black History Month, we recognize, honor and acknowledge the contributions and achievements of those who went before us. “I want history to remember me not just as the first black woman to be elected to Congress, not as the first black woman to have made a bid for the presidency of the United States, but as a black woman who lived in the 20th century and dared to be herself. ” ~ Shirley Chisholm (November 30, 1924 – January 1, 2005) In 1968, she became the first African American woman elected to the United States Congress and served seven terms from 1969 to 1983. In 1972, she became the first black candidate for a major party's nomination for President of the United States, and the first woman to run for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. Leadership is all about people. It is not about organizations. It is not about plans. It is not about strategies. It is all about people-motivating people to get the job done. You have to be people-centered. ~ Colin Powell Born: April 5, 1937 (age 79) 65th United States Secretary of State (2001 to 2005), the first African American to serve in that position and the first African American to serve on the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1989–1993).

I have been struggling for many years now. I understand racism. I understand there are a lot of people in this country who don’t care about the problems in the inner city. We have to fight every day that we get up for every little thing that we get. And so I keep struggling. ~ Maxine Waters Born: August 15, 1938 (age 78) Elected in November 2014 to her thirteenth term in the U.S. House of Representatives from California’s 43rd district.
