Pats’ TE facing more trouble From Wire Services

MIAMI — New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, already connected to a homicide victim in MasSPORTS sachusetts, is NOTEBOOK being sued in South Florida by a man claiming Hernandez shot him in the face after they argued at a strip club in Miami. The lawsuit filed late Wednesday by 30-year-old Alexander Bradley comes as police in New England investigate the death of 27-year-old semi-pro player Odin Lloyd. Lloyd’s body was found in an industrial park near Hernandez’s home in North Attleborough, Mass. Bradley claims he and Hernandez were with a group in February at Tootsie’s club when the two got into an argument. Bradley claims Hernandez shot him, causing him to lose his right eye. Jay-Z certified as agent NEW YORK — Jay-Z is now in the player agent business. The hip-hop mogul has been certified by the NBA players’ association, spokesmen for the union and Roc Nation Sports said. However, it’s unclear exactly what he can do. He would have to sell his minor share of the Brooklyn Nets before he can represent players, according to NBA rules. O’Bannon leads lawsuit OAKLAND, Calif. — Former college basketball standout Ed O’Bannon and his lawyers sought to dramatically expand his lawsuit challenging the NCAA’s ban on compensating athletes in a move that could expose the organization and its member schools to billions of dollars in damages. O’Bannon and his lawyers asked a federal court judge to turn their antitrust lawsuit into a class action, representing thousands of former and current college athletes. The lawsuit demands that the NCAA find a way to cut players in on the billions of dollars earned by college sports from live broadcasts, memorabilia sales, video games and in other areas. O’Brien’s paycheck bumped STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Bill O’Brien is getting a nearly $1 million raise after his job in his debut season as Penn State’s football coach. Counting compensation for radio and television work and a Nike contract, O’Brien’s total deal this year would be worth more than $3.2 million. Celtics, Clippers revive talks The potential trade that would bring Kevin Garnett and Doc Rivers to the Clippers has been harder to kill than Jason Voorhees. Barely more than 24 hours after talks between the Celtics and the Clippers were deemed “dead,” the two teams spoke again about the blockbuster Wednesday. And while nothing has been agreed to, the Clippers and Boston continued speaking Thursday. The principal framework for the deal has remained mostly unchanged, with the Clippers sending DeAndre Jordan to Boston for Garnett. The Celtics are also asking for a pair of first-round picks to release Rivers from the noncompete clause in his contract. Rivers has three years and $21 million remaining on his contract with the Celtics.
