+Affirmation of Faith (unison) The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. +Hymn #581

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN CIRCLE MEETINGS: Circle 5 will meet on February 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the Heritage Room at church. Circle 6 will meet at 6:00 p.m. in the Annex Lounge on February 12.

And the greatest of these is love . . . There’s rarely a time when PPC’s parking lot is empty. People come for preschool and hot meals, scouts and basketball, worship and Wonderful Wednesdays, AA meetings and bazaar workshops, choir practice and committee meetings, Kingdom Kids, and so much more. Some come for fellowship and fun, some out of hope, obligation, or even desperation. But whatever their reason, may they will always find love. It’s the reason we’re here, it’s the reason we keep coming back. God’s unconditional love for us and our love for Him, is the reason we give our money, volunteer our time, and take care of His children - friends we know, and those we may never have met. As you go through this week, pray for PPC that we may continue to share God’s love to each other, our community, and beyond. And remember Paul’s words this week and always, “And now these remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)

CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS who work with children and youth: If you are a teacher, leader, or volunteer for ages 0-18, and you want to continue to volunteer, please remember to fill out the criminal background form found in front of the church office, or print one from the church website and return to Judy Clinton in the church office ASAP. This also includes volunteering for short term events and activities including Vacation Bible School, youth trips, and other activities. The Christian Education ministry team appreciates your cooperation in this measure to ensure safety and to comply with the policy of the PCUSA. Thank you if you have already turned yours in!! THE KINGDOM KIDS are so excited to announce their current mission project called “Pennies for Pete and Penelope”! They will be collecting pennies to eventually purchase a cow (Pete) and a sheep (Penelope) for Heifer International. This organization works with communities all over the world to help end hunger and poverty, along with caring for the earth. What a great lesson to teach our kids to share with others while they are young! But, YOU are invited to participate too! You may drop your pennies into the cute containers located on the table by the church office as well as the Kingdom Kids rotunda. Thank you for your partnership with our Kingdom Kids on this fun, and important mission!

WONDERFUL WEDNESDAYS Register online for the spring semester. Contact Susan Griffin at [email protected] to volunteer or with questions. This week’s menu: baked potato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, salad, and dessert. THE SACRAMENT of communion will be observed during both worship services on February 24th. ARTICLES for the March Philagram need to be sent to Matt Hall at [email protected] or placed in box #32 by the 18th of February. CONFIRMATION is a tradition in the Christian church that has for centuries been utilized as a tool to nurture the spirit and to increase an awareness of the biblical, spiritual, historical, governmental, theological, and practical elements of Christianity. Confirmation is for current 8th grade students. Classes will begin March 3 and will meet each Sunday until April 14 in the Youth Room immediately after the traditional worship service until 1:30pm. This course will cover the areas of Christian worship, church government, the Sacraments, church history, theology, the Scriptures, and spiritual nurture. There will be an informative meeting on Sunday, February 24 @ 10 a.m. in Youth Room. Students that are participating in Confirmation need to attend this meeting with a parent/guardian. As a final celebration, there will be a dinner on April 20 (time and place TBD), at which our confirmands will present their statements of faith. All family members of the confirmands are invited to attend! We will celebrate and recognize our confirmands on Sunday, April 21 (Easter) during worship service. If you plan on being part of Confirmation this year, please notify Shane. EVERYONE has the opportunity to place flowers in the sanctuary for Sunday services in honor or memory of friends and loved ones. Simply sign up for a Sunday on the flower calendar posted on the board outside the church office. If there are questions, please contact Cynthia at 704-545-6172. ATTENTION High School Seniors!
