Kingdom Kids Promotions Call to Confession Silent Prayers of Confession Prayers of the Day and the Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Assurance of Pardon Choral Response Children’s Sermon

Anthem

“Train Up a Child”

Choplin

Train up a child in the way that he should go – that he will never depart. Train up a child in the way and she will grow with the word in her heart. Feed them truth, guide the way, teach them promises God has made, That they may live in God’s love and grace. Train up a child as you teach them right from wrong, as he follows the word. Train up a child as you lead her to be strong, be strong in the Lord. Feed them truth, guide the way, teach them promises God has made, That they may live in God’s love and grace. Many voices call, many things may draw them far away, Though their paths may go far away from home, the word shall remain in their hearts. Train up a child; your rewards will go beyond the days you live. Raise them in love; generations will be blest by the love that you give. Feed them truth, show the way, teach the promises God has made, that they will carry on to train up a child, and they will live in God’s love forever.

+Affirmation of Faith (unison) The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. +Hymn # 581

+Those who are able please stand. WELCOME visitors and friends. We are happy you have joined us for worship. Please sign the Attendance Register so we may greet you. THE FLOWERS in the sanctuary this morning are given in honor of the Kingdom Kid teachers and all who volunteer their time and talents with the Kingdom Kids in the various church ministries! Thank you very much!! TODAY we will receive our 10 Cents-A-Meal Offering to support hunger -fighting programs across the seven counties of the Presbytery of Charlotte. WE THANK Alice Pamplin for filling in for Leslie Anderson, while he is away.

WHERE FAITH MEETS FINANCE This morning we celebrate Promotion Sunday - the conclusion of another year for our thirty-plus Kingdom Kids. Just as they are moving up a grade in school, they are also moving up another age level in church. The past year has been packed full of fun and excitement as these young disciples have continued to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ and in their service to others. They have truly set the example of how to live out PPC’s vision “to bless others as we have been blessed.” Your faithful contributions to the current fund help fund Kingdom Kids and other programs for our children and youth as we continue to work together to Believe, Love, Evangelize, Share and Serve. Thank you!

ON SUNDAY, July 1, our Sanctuary choir will present "Prayer For America, A Declaration of Dependence", a patriotic cantata that will celebrate our veterans, our military, our country, and our amazing God. But we need your help! As part of the service, we would like to display pictures of service members in uniform - past and present, family and friends. We would also like to include pictures of medals or other military memorabilia that may be meaningful to you. Please send digital pictures to [email protected], or make a copy of the picture (no originals please!) and drop off in the church office. Also, on cantata day, we invite you to wear your uniform (if you can squeeze into it!) or a hat that signifies your service so that we can celebrate you! If you have any questions, please call choir director Jane Mendlik, 704-609-0008, or email her at [email protected]. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF STAFF E-MAIL ADDRESSES:

SUMMER MOVIE NIGHTS ARE BACK! Join us on Friday, June 22 for The Incredibles at 7 p.m. in the Kerr Building. Bring a chair if you like, popcorn and drinks will be provided. UNLIKE IN YEARS PAST, we will continue to collect food items for the Backpacks of Love program throughout the summer break. Please keep those donations coming! More information will be coming in the weeks ahead. Thank you for your continued generosity! SAVE THE DATES: VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL will be Sunday, August 5th through Thursday, August 9th. Join us as we learn about Superheroes of the Bible. More information on registrations will be coming soon. If you would like to help make VBS a success by volunteering your time and talents that week as a teacher, helper, decorator, kitchen worker, or other, please contact Susan Griffin at [email protected] or Jill Linscheid at [email protected]. ALL MEETINGS AND EVENTS need to be scheduled through the church office. Building Usage and Van Usage Forms are available in the information rack across from the church office. The appropriate form must be filled out and request approved by the Building & Grounds Committee. Place completed forms in box #7 or return them to the church office. THE INVITATION TO MEMBERSHIP: Philadelphia Church welcomes persons who wish to join us in witness and service to Jesus Christ.
