Introduction Internal, Privilege card, Version1, Page 2 of 5 January 2016

Privilegecard is one of our most valued benefits and enables colleagues to get 10% off their shopping at Tesco.

1. Who is this policy for? This policy is for all colleagues and outlines:    

who is eligible for a Privilegecard; when you can get your Privilegecard; how to get a second card for a family member you live with; and who is eligible for a Privilegecard for Life when they leave Tesco

We have the right to discontinue the Scheme or any element of it, or vary the rules in any way, and will let you know if any changes occur.

2. Who can have a Privilegecard? You will be sent a Privilegecard once you have 6 months’ continuous service with us. If you are a current colleague, you can order a second card for a family member living permanently with you at the address we hold on company records. This is with the exception of colleagues who are employed by one of our associated companies, except Tesco Bank. “Family member” is any relative, partner, civil partner, spouse or carer. Your second card is linked to your primary card, so your joint discount remains at £1,000. Cards and details of the scheme are automatically sent to you at the home address we hold on our company records. Your Privilegecards are intended for your benefit as a Tesco colleague, and are designed to allow you to save money on your shopping so can only be used by the person named on them and anything purchased must be for personal use (as outlined in section three).

You can get discount on up to £10,000 worth of shopping between the 1st April and 31st March each year. If you start part way through the year, the actual amount of shopping you can get discount on is pro-rated, based on when you get your card. Privilegecard is a colleague benefit and so any purchases made using your Privilegecard should be for your own personal use i.e. your weekly food shop or a TV for your home from Tesco Direct. You can buy items which can be shared with friends or a gift e.g. chocolates, but your discount should not be used to buy goods to sell to other people, or to obtain discounted goods for someone else which they then pay you for. It’s your responsibility to ensure that your second cardholder is aware of this. You need to have your card with you when you are buying anything and want to claim your discount.

4. Where can I use my Privilegecard? You can use your Privilegecard at Tesco.com, Tesco Direct, Wine by the Case as well as many of our Tesco Family Brands as described in the table: Clubcard points

The Store Manager has absolute discretion to disallow any transaction if they believe its use would be contrary to the purpose of the Scheme.

5. Does the Privilegecard replace my Clubcard? Yes, your Privilegecard is also your Clubcard so you will earn Clubcard points in the same way. You get the points on the value of the transaction after your 10% discount has been applied. If you already have a Clubcard, you can contact the Clubcard helpline on 0800 591688 to arrange for your Clubcard points to be transferred over to your Privilegecard. Your second cardholder’s existing Clubcard Account can be merged with their Privilegecard and you can also create a joint account so you can share points. 7. Can I order a replacement card as mine has been lost/damaged/stolen? Yes, your People Manager (Store Manager if you work in convenience) can order a replacement card. Alternatively, if you have a Tesco email address, you can

9. What happens to my Privilegecard when I leave Tesco? If you leave Tesco, your card will cancel automatically after your final day of employment. If you are eligible for a Privilegecard for Life (see section 11) you will be sent a new Privilegecard for Life after you have left. This will replace your Privilegecard. If you pass away, your partner will be given a card for one year. Any Clubcard points at leaving can be transferred onto a Clubcard by phoning the Clubcard helpline on 0800 591688.

10. When do I get a Privilegecard for life? To be considered for a Privilegecard for Life your reason for leaving Tesco must be Redundancy, Retirement or Death in Service. If you have left due to one of these reasons AND you also have 30 years’ continuous service OR a minimum of 5 years’ continuous service and your age plus service is 80 years or more then you qualify for a Privilegecard for Life. Privilegecard for Life holders are not eligible for a second card. If you have previously ordered a second card, this will automatically be cancelled within a week of your final day. The card for life will be automatically issued in the name of the person on your primary card. If you have a Privilegecard for Life and you pass away, this benefit will transfer to your partner or spouse.

11. What are the potential consequences if I breach this policy? Providing this benefit is a significant investment for Tesco, and we take any abuse of our scheme very seriously. Any breaches may result in disciplinary action which could lead to your dismissal.
