CHICKASAW NATION AVIATION & SPACE ACADEMY (CNASA) is a weeklong academy for Chickasaw students interested in space, aviation, math and science. Academy dates and other information can be obtained by calling the number above. For required forms and program information, visit Chickasaw.net/STEM. Deadline to apply is April 15. The CNASA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM provides Chickasaw students across the country with an opportunity to participate in the Chickasaw Nation Aviation & Space Academy. Interested students must submit a scholarship application and a CNASA application, which contains competitive criteria applicants must meet. A committee will evaluate and rank completed applications to determine scholarship recipients. CNASA scholarships will cover the cost of round‑trip airfare or mileage, lodging and meals. SPACE CAMP is a weeklong premier educational program for Chickasaw students, ages 9-18, located at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center at NASA’s Marshall Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The YOUTH CLOTHING GRANT provides students with a $200 non‑reloadable Visa gift card each school year. Students must apply each school year. The grant must be used for school clothing purchases only. This program offers eligible Chickasaw students a grant of $150 once per year to assist with expenses or fees to participate in various events, clubs, leagues or other extracurricular activities. Students classified as seniors are eligible for an additional grant of $150 once per lifetime for senior expenses. Application period: October 1 – September 30.

The burial assistance program is for Native Americans residing within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries. The Chickasaw Nation will pay up to $2,500, directly to the funeral home, toward the final balance of a Chickasaw citizen’s burial expenses. The burial assistance program cannot reimburse families. Verification of citizenship, Social Security card, death certificate, final funeral home statement, income, verification of deceased’s address and residence must be provided to apply.

The Council House Museum houses the original 1855 log cabin council house that was in use at the time the 1856 Constitution was signed. The Council House Museum has three galleries highlighting Chickasaw history, culture and Chickasaw people.

Actors create interesting, informative and entertaining productions based on the original plays and vignettes which offer insight into the Chickasaw Nation’s rich culture and history. Anyone interested in historical reenactment, theater or other performing arts is invited to participate. Auditions are open year‑round. Chickasaw heritage, customs and spirit come to life as people from across the globe gather for the Chickasaw Nation Annual Meeting and Festival. Activities and events are featured at different venues throughout the Chickasaw Nation, including the cities of Tishomingo, Ada, Sulphur, Emet and Kullihoma. Numerous traditional events, including the State of the Nation Address, Chickasaw Princess Pageant, cultural evening, festival parade, traditional meal and children's activities fill the weeklong celebration that will take place from September 27 through October 5, 2019.

The ART OF THE CHICKASAW WOMAN EXHIBIT showcases the art, strength, spirit and creativity of Chickasaw women. The exhibit consists of Chickasaw female artists who have the opportunity to submit up to three entries of artwork including photography, textiles, traditional, two-dimensional and three-dimensional. The exhibit takes place in conjunction with the annual Dynamic Women Conference. The BUTTERFLY ART CONTEST takes place annually prior to the Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Conference for female Chickasaw youth, ages 14-18. Symbolic of the beauty, purity and determination of Chickasaw women throughout history, the winning butterfly art will be utilized for materials and promotion for the conference. The first place winner receives a cash award. The Butterfly Art Contest deadline is January 25.

Historic preservation consults with federal and state agencies to encourage preservation and protection of significant historic and sacred sites. Photographers are given a one word theme and have 72 hours to take photos and submit their unedited interpretation of the given theme. DIGITAL STORYTELLING is the practice of combining narrative with digital content, including images, sound and video, to create a short movie, typically with a strong emotional component. This program seeks traditional stories or stories about the old ways. Both youth and adults can participate. The IMANOLI WRITER’S CONFERENCE is designed for writers looking to enhance their writing skills. Professionals from diverse fields of writing share their knowledge about the different aspects of the writing process, writing styles and publishing. Conference is free and open to the public. The conference takes place on the first Thursday in August. The MUSICAL TOUR offers the season's musical which tours to various locations within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries. Once per year, a large‑scale musical will be produced and performed at predetermined venues. This gives citizens an opportunity to be involved with or experience art through live performance. PERFORMING ARTS ENRICHMENT CLASSES offer various performing arts disciplines such as: auditioning, head shot, résumé, acting, technical theater, stage makeup, etc. The RECORDING BOOTH/STUDIO offers recording services in the small recording booth in the arts & humanities building. Recordings include voice recordings or music recordings. The TEEN MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP program provides opportunities for teens, ages 8-16, to be a part of the musical theatre workshop ending with a final performance. The WRITING TUTORING program is committed to all Chickasaw students’ educational success. By providing personalized writing tutoring, mentoring, research and reading resources, as well as workshops and seminars, the creative arts team (or program) helps students create and maintain skills, strategies and behavior of confident, independent and lifelong learning. 300 Rosedale Rd. • Ada, OK 74820 The Chickasaw Nation Career Technology Program is available to part‑time and full‑time Chickasaw students attending a state or nationally accredited career technology center, online education institute, trade school or private training facility, whereby graduates receive a professional certification or license upon completion of their program. CAREER TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM (CTP) GRANT shall be based on the student’s program’s tuition and fee costs, with $6,000 being the maximum award amount per certification. An invoice or billing statement must be submitted to process any award amount. The student’s federal and/ or state financial aid award will be taken into consideration when processing the CTP grant award amount. All students must submit a high school transcript, high school equivalency or college transcript. Eligibility is not dependent on completion or grade point average. Application must be made before the student’s course completion date to be eligible. CERTIFICATION COMPLETION INCENTIVE is limited to one completion incentive per certification. Students must provide a final transcript, diploma or licensure showing certification has been awarded within six months after the course completion date. Certification completion incentive awards are based strictly on training clock hours and will be awarded as follows: 99 hours or less is $50; 100–250 hours is $100; 251–500 hours is $200; 501–750 hours is $300; and 751 hours or more is $400. EXAM AND LICENSURE ASSISTANCE GRANT provides assistance for licensing and certification exams or licensure fees. Students may be eligible for up to $500 per exam or licensure fee. TEXTBOOK AND SUPPLIES ASSISTANCE GRANT provides assistance for required textbooks and supplies as determined by the student’s program. The textbook and supplies assistance grant is available once per certification. Part‑time and high school students may qualify for $250. Full‑time students may qualify for $500.

Education coordinators provide educational resources and refer to other agencies that help with academic success. Students are encouraged to explore college and technical career opportunities. They are supported to stay on track academically and are offered activities to strengthen their connection to the Chickasaw culture. Imatahli identifies and monitors students who are eligible for Oklahoma's Promise. The program also provides funding and financial information to students and assists them with the application process. The RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION PROGRAM aids Chickasaw students who attend the University of Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma or Oklahoma City Community College. The program is designed to meet the academic needs of students by assisting in the development of their academic skills, identifying campus and tribal resources, creating networks of support on and off campus and building a stronger connection to their Chickasaw culture. The program assists students with the completion of their certificates, associate or bachelor's degrees in a timely manner. Students who are interested in employment after graduation will be connected to human resources through recruitment and retention coordinators.

ADULT ART CLASSES provide an introduction to various mediums and subject matter. Enrollment is open to community members, with classes in Ada at the arts and humanities building, and in Sulphur at the ARTesian Gallery & Studios. The CHICKASAW YOUNG ARTISTS STUDIO (CYAS) assists students, grades seven‑12, with art portfolios, contest preparation, one‑on‑one studio time with an instructor and provides general mentoring of Chickasaw young artists throughout the year. TEACHER IN‑SERVICE TRAINING AND NATIVE AMERICAN/CULTURAL CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION may be scheduled by public school arts programs and administration during the regular school term. A GENERAL SCHOLARSHIP is available to Chickasaw students who take three or more credit hours each term and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. Awards are based on enrollment and classification, and an incentive is available based on GPA. The GOVERNOR’S, LT. GOVERNOR’S & LEGISLATOR’S SCHOLARSHIPS are awarded one‑time only for graduating high school seniors who have achieved a high level of academic success. In order to be eligible for these scholarships, a student must have earned a 3.85 GPA or higher or have been selected class valedictorian or salutatorian. A HIGHER EDUCATION GRANT may be awarded to undergraduate, graduate or doctoral students who maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher each semester. An INTER‑TRIBAL COUNCIL OF THE FIVE CIVILIZED TRIBES JOHNSON‑O’MALLEY SCHOLARSHIP is awarded each year to one male and one female graduating high school senior. In order to be eligible for this one‑time only scholarship, students must be attending a school with a JOM program within the Chickasaw Nation boundaries. Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation and a 500‑word essay. Deadline is February 1. The LICENSE & CERTIFICATION FEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM assists college students with license and certification fees associated with their degree programs. A TEXTBOOK GRANT may be awarded to undergraduate, graduate or doctoral students enrolled in at least three college credit hours, who maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher each term.
Students enrolled in three to 11 hours may be awarded $250 per term, and students enrolled in 12 plus hours may be awarded $500 per term. Textbook reimbursement deadlines: • Summer term deadline is July 1. • Spring term deadline is March 15. • Fall term deadline is October 15.

This program trains students to become strong, knowledgeable leaders for the future. It provides opportunities for a student ambassador to build bridges, one relationship at a time, in an effort to address issues facing the Chickasaw Nation. This nationwide program is offered as a token of appreciation and recognition for Chickasaw elder veterans, 60 years of age or older, for their military service. Participants are selected by year(s) served. Those who served first, will be selected first for a one-time, all‑expense paid trip to Washington, D.C. The Chickasaw Nation Aging Division staff accompanies the selected veterans. The trip's itinerary includes tours of major war monuments, Smithsonian Museum tours, a visit to Arlington National Cemetery, and many other fun and exciting activities.

The Chickasaw Senior Golf Academy is for Chickasaw senior citizens, 50 years and older. The academy is designed to improve the play of intermediate and advanced players. Participants are taught putting techniques, driver techniques, chip shots, short game and full swings. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from professional instructors at the WinStar Golf Course. While promoting an active lifestyle, the Chickasaw Senior Golf Academy gives seniors the opportunity to enjoy golf and connect with other golfers.

Elderly specialists will provide assistance in locating resources for the elder's need(s) and will assist in completing the necessary application and/or paperwork. Elderly specialists coordinate services with community health representatives (CHRs), State Department of Human Service representatives and other agencies that are beneficial to elders. Visits are determined by referrals submitted to senior services. To submit a referral, contact senior services at the number listed above.

This program provides specific over‑the‑counter (OTC) medications at no cost for Chickasaw elders. The medications are available at all Chickasaw Nation Senior Center locations (see pages 32-33) or may be mailed to the Chickasaw elder. OTC medications available are: non‑asprin, cough syrup, liquid antacid, magnesium, Vitamin E, Vitamin C, calcium, artificial tears, stool softener, fiber laxative, multivitamin and fish oil. Requests may be submitted in writing or via telephone at the number above.

The senior centers also provide health screenings, social activities, cultural classes, speakers, elder wellness programs and group activities.
