The ________________________________ keeps calling people, both inside and outside the church, back to who Jesus is and what he has done. The ________________________________ (or literally “shepherd”) focuses on strengthening people on their personal journeys, and nurturing relationships between people as the body grows together.
Radical Leadership Matt Garvin ~ May 29, 2016
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service… Ephesians 4:11-12 NIV If there be an essential difference between the Apostolic and later Age, then the Church is not one body but two; then the gifts of those members do not flow into our members; then the glorious figure and powerful reasoning of that chapter (1 Cor. 12) are false and delusive. If we are the same body, we have the same life and power. A.B. Simpson The ________________________________ (literally "one who is sent") moves from their "normal" existence, guided by a God-given vision for the extension of the now-available Kingdom. They create a framework within which others can find their ministry. The ________________________________ sees and communicates the gap between what is and what God’s heart is for how things should be. At times prophets predicted future events (Acts 11:27- 28; 21:10), but usually they explained the relevance of the gospel and the will of God (see 1 Cor. 14:3- 40), (Ephesians 4:7 NIV Application Commentary)

The ________________________________ focuses on biblical, life-giving insights that enable people to make informed choices as they engage with others, themselves, the world and God. The functions of Pastor and Teacher are overlapping.
What we need in order to be equipped for works of service:
A vision of the now available Kingdom that is actionable (Apostle)
Awareness of the gap between what is and what God wants to be (Prophet) Jesus first in everything Authentic fellowship
A biblical worldview that gives understanding
(Evangelist)
(Pastor) (Teacher)
What being equipped looks like: so that the body of Christ may be built up Ephesians 4:12 NIV until we all reach unity in the faith Ephesians 4:13 NIV
and in the knowledge of the Son of God Ephesians 4:13 NIV
and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ Ephesians 4:13 NIV
