WEEK OF OCTOBER 7-13, 2018 Principal's Message - Overprotective This week's message comes the Time of Grace blog. You can go to their website and nd the message in it's entirety.

A friend and I joke that we're worst-case-scenario moms, able to easily imagine everything that could possibly go wrong with our kids. While we laugh at ourselves, we also know we do this because our worst fear is that something will happen to our children. I'm sure you can relate. I realize that the tendency to be overprotective comes because "safety" gives us a sense of control. After all, if we take every possible precaution, then nothing will go wrong, right? Wrong. Sometimes our worst fears become our reality... So, how do we overcome that worry? We concentrate on Jesus. Even if the worst, death, comes...This is what makes what Jesus did so great. Because of him, we don't die forever; it's

simply the next step to live forever with him...Jesus promises to be with us every step of the way. And this is an important reminder for us all. Instead of worrying so much - because who of you, by worrying, can add a single hour to your (or your children's) lives? - let's spend more time talking about Jesus, praying with our kids, and helping them tell others about the hope (not the fear) that we have! We love partnering with you to help accomplish that last part..."spend more time talking about Jesus, praying with your kids, and helping them realize that we have hope, in this world AND in heaven! What a great reminder this week! Mr. Ross

Classroom Update Update from Ms. Brennan’s 3-year-old Class The month of September is off to a great start. We started school learning all about the routines in the classroom, learning how to walk in a straight line, and all about “me”. We learned that even though we have different color eyes, hair color or like different kinds of foods; God loves us and created us unique and special. Next we got to explore different kinds of apples. We found that apples come in many different colors with different avors. We even got to taste apples and nd out which avor apple was our favorite. Most of the class liked the Granny Smith apples. We nished off the month of September with a eld trip to The New Children’s Museum. We got to explore different rooms with pillows, climb on ropes, and drive cars around on a race track. Well, that’s all for now. We will check in again with you soon.

Kindergarten Outreach Begins School has just begun, but families are thinking ahead now to next year's Kindergarten enrollment. Our excellent Kindergarten program will be opening its doors to share a glimpse of a typical school day and providing information to parents who are interested in a Christ-centered, skill-building program. Invite friends, family and neighbors and plan to attend yourself if you have a child who will be Kindergarten-ready soon. Click here for more information. Don’t forget about the Family Referral Program which can reward you for helping our school grow! http://reformationschoolsd.org/school-information/familyreferral-program/ Wednesday, October 17 - 6-7:15pm - Kindergarten Round-Up
