Reformation Lutheran School & Preschool Weekly Newsletter

WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 23-29, 2018 Principal's Message - "Feeling Positive" Wow! How have we already done three weeks of school?! Time ies once we have all gotten back into our routines. I was looking for Bible passages to summarize the last few weeks and I came across Colossians 3: 1-2, "Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts

on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things." This is so peaceful, so calming, so...positive. It sets the tone. It sets the tone for everything we do here at Reformation. We have Christ, who, by the way "sits at the right hand of God." How can I not be positive knowing that? How can WE not be positive knowing that? We know that He is watching over us and taking care of us! We nd a comfort there. We nd a comfort that we can go to Him with our struggles, concerns and the weight of this world and know that He will hear us, that He will work everything out for our good. We just need to remember to "set our minds on things above!" This quick thought has rejuvenated my positivity this week! Even though there are so many "little" things that go on during a school day, as a parent and student and teacher, we know where to go to set our minds right. I am happy for this reminder and wanted to pass it on to all of you! I pray you have a blessed weekend in the Lord and in the comfort of his guiding hand! Mr. Ross

Maritime Museum Field Trip Classroom Update - Mr. Ash (3rd & 4th Grades) The students in grades 3-4 are getting into a great routine in our classroom this year. They are learning the schedules, and they are getting back into learning the subject material and having fun working together on projects like a science play about weather patterns. The students were able to get out of the classroom for our rst eld trip to the Maritime Museum at the San Diego Harbor. They learned about what life was like on the Star of India and a research submarine. They are happy to have fresh fruits and vegetables after hearing about how nasty scurvy can be on your body! They imagined the great voyages taken by many great sailors on these vessels. History came alive for them at the museum. God has blessed Reformation with amazing students in grades 3-4! They show their love for their Savior Jesus in everything they do both inside and outside of the classroom.

Kindergarten Outreach Begins School has just begun, but families are thinking ahead now to next year's Kindergarten enrollment. Our excellent Kindergarten program will be opening its doors to share a glimpse of a typical school day and providing information to parents who are interested in a Christ-centered, skill-building program. Invite friends, family and neighbors and plan to attend yourself if you have a child who will be Kindergarten-ready soon. Click here for more information. Friday, October 5 - 8:30-11:30am - A Taste of Kindergarten Wednesday, October 17 - 6-7:15pm - Kindergarten Round-Up
