Jeep boys soccer awards presented DUBOIS — The Northeast Dubois boys soccer team presented their end-of-the-season awards at their annual banquet this week. Honorees were Logan Dodd (Sportsmanship/Recognition, Most Outstanding Player - Overall, Most Outstanding Player - Defense, Players Player of the Year), Marshall Knies (Most Outstand Playing - Offense, Mental Attitude), Matthew Jacob (Most Improved), Vetle Fossen (Golden Boot) and Bryce Merkel (Freshman Most Outstanding Player). Knies was also selected to the Blue Chip all-conference team while Dodd, Malachi Baumeister, Jacob Ivey and Landon Gugtsell were all honorable mention.

It made it even easier to enjoy when he saw a bunch of former teammates from last year’s state championship team and previous Raider squads greet him with jubilation following the victory. “Just sitting back and seeing a lot of the alums, I feel like they were the ones who laid the groundwork for us so to make them proud feels really good,” Schank said. “I know they’re always going to be here to support us no matter how we do but it’s always good when you can get those wins for them and the community.”
