Welcome Coordinator Administration Executive Director / Laurie Chen 15 hours per week (maximum 20 hours with approval)

Redeemer is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church in Encinitas built on the belief that the gospel renews everything. Our vision is to saturate North County San Diego and beyond with the gospel so it leads to renewal in our lives, church and communities. Job Purpose: The Redeemer Welcome Coordinator oversees Redeemer’s ministry of hospitality and welcome. This ministry is responsible for visitors to our church from “street to seat” to ensure a warm and welcoming experience. The goal is to welcome and encourage visitors and regular attenders alike to feel at home and belong to our church family. This position works with the leadership team to execute these strategies. The Welcome Coordinator works closely with the volunteers, manages the follow up processes, plans/executes the next steps and supports with other duties as needed. Duties & Responsibilities • Oversee Redeemer Welcome Ministry Teams • On sight for all three services to welcome people to Redeemer • Provide oversight and back-up to Parking Team, Connect Center, Greeters and Ushers, Hospitality Refreshment Teams, Refreshment Attendant • Provide direction to diaconal and other coordinators • Set-up Connect Center area each Sunday • Print out the weekly Connect Center Information sheet • Track Connect Center literature and reorder to ensure promotional literature is available at Connect Center Redeemer Welcome Brunch and Lunch • Recruit volunteers as table hosts • Assist with full execution of event • Follow-up with attendees to connect them further into Redeemer Life of the church • Implement Welcome Ministry Process queues through e-mail notifications and management lists to ensure proper follow through of new individuals and get adequately processed through the system Redeemer 101 Classes • Work alongside with Office Manager for scheduling promotions, planning, executing and inviting interested people. Note: Classes are held twice a year in the fall and spring. The format is three sessions on three consecutive Sundays from 3 – 5 pm. • Follow up with participants to ascertain path forward and integration into Redeemer Volunteer Coordination • Recruit and retain Welcome Ministry Volunteers (Greeters, Connect Center, Refreshments, Parking) • Coordinate and encourage Welcome Ministry Volunteers and Team Leaders • Evaluate Welcome activities and look for ways to improve the welcome experience

Manage volunteer schedule for Connect Center and Parking teams (commitment is 1 service, 1 time per month however some people choose to serve 2 times per months) Send out weekly email reminders with information to volunteers (find substitutes as needed) Maintain and implement Welcome Ministry guidelines and processes Plan and hold annual Volunteer appreciation event Meet with volunteers and leaders personally to express gratitude and hear thoughts and ideas

Administration (Meeting Participation) • Attend weekly Worship planning meeting - provide input to ensure warm and welcoming visitor/member experience for Sunday morning activities. • Monthly Communication Meeting for Welcome events, integration and coordination • Monthly Ministry Directors Meeting • Monthly Staff Meeting Operations and Support • 6:45 a.m. Sunday morning - Pick up Donuts/Donut Hole • Troubleshoot any problems that arise and resolve. If unable to resolve, report to Facilities • Appoint someone who is regularly at service to remove ropes 10 minutes into second service • Provide Back up for Sunday morning Setup of Island (coffee, water etc.) TO APPLY: Submit resume to [email protected]
