Redeemer Group Discussion Guide In our time together in the book of Luke, we want to discover Jesus, the man who is God, in a fresh way. Each week we will be discovering a new aspect of who Jesus is and how we fulfilled God’s redemptive plan for all creation.

STARTER

Have you ever met someone “famous?” What was that experience like? What made you want to meet that person? Today we wrap up our final discussion about the Gospel of Luke. We will take a few moments to discuss our scripture passage, but then also have some conversation around the entire series.

GETTING INTO THE SCRIPTURE

Please take a few moments to read Luke 24:13-35. What seems to be the disciples’ disposition in those post-resurrection moments? Jesus teaches them about the connection between Moses, the prophets, and his work. Please look at these passages and connect them to the Gospel of Jesus. How did Jesus fulfill the role of redeemer in these passages? 1. Isaiah 52:1-6 2. Psalm 16:1-11 3. Daniel 7:13-14 As you picture it, what was it like for these men to have Jesus revealed to them? What would have been the significance of this moment in their lives?

MAKING IT REAL

For the Christian, how does it shape our faith that Jesus is alive right now? Paul writes to the Romans in Romans 8:11 that, “ If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.” If it is true that the same Spirit, with the same power, that resurrected Jesus lives in us, what does it look like to live with resurrection power in us?
