Steve Treskes, Assistant Fire Chief, Torrance Steve was born in Torrance, raised in Huntington Beach, and attended Santa Ana College. He is currently completing his Bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University. In March of 1993 he was hired by the Torrance Fire Department where he has served through the ranks as a Firefighter/ Paramedic, Fire Engineer, Fire Captain, and Hazardous Materials Fire Captain. He is a survivor of the 2017 Las Vegas mass shooting where he ministered to others while wounded himself. Steve and his wife Abra have three children. Steve comes from a firefighting family and his life focuses on three things: faith, family, and friends.
