 Reminder: State Minimum Wage Adjustment To

$9.50/Hour August 1 The last incremental increase to the state minimum wage law enacted in 2014 will take effect on August 1st, 2016. The law will now require large employers to pay at least $9.50 an hour and small employers to pay a minimum rate of $7.75 an hour. The next increase (due to inflation indexing) is scheduled to begin January 1, 2018. Under current law, employees must be paid the minimum wage rate plus any tips that employee may earn.

 Are you looking for a way to network and meet

other business professionals? Chamber Connections may be the perfect opportunity for you! The group meets every Tuesday from 8:309:30 am at Spire Credit Union (in the Community Room), and is open to all chamber members. You can come occasionally as your schedule allows or be a regular attendee— whichever suits you best. Each meeting focuses on lead referral generation, business education and group discussion on relevant topics. It is also a great way to get more comfortable speaking in front of peers, including perfecting your “elevator pitch”. No RSVP is necessary. We’d love to see you there!

 The

Central Minnesota Manufacturers Association invites you to attend a presentation on "State Certified Youth Apprenticeship: How to Start a Program" from 9 to 11 a.m. on Aug. 10 at HealthPartners in Sartell. Panelists will share information on funding, teacher licensing, safety, state approval and more. There is no charge to attend but registration is required. Visit cmmaworks.org to learn more.
