The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce

WE BELIEVE . . .

IN OPENING DOORS AND CLOSING DEALS

The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce will host their largest event of the year, the 2016 Saratoga County Business-to-Buiness Expo, on Thursday, October 6, 2016. The event will take place from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m., at the Saratoga Springs City Center, 522 Broadway, Saratoga Springs. There will be 145 member exhibitors, comprised of over 40 industries from all over the Capital Region. Not only does the event provide a great networking opportunity, but it also proves to be one of the more entertaining events of the year. There will be over 10 local restaurants serving food, various activities throughout the expo, various cash bars, and giveaways at member booths. Average attendance ranges between 1,500-2,000 people, with a majority coming from the business community. “Over the past three years, the Chamber has really made an effort to shift the focus of the expo to be the premier business-to-business event in the region”, said Todd Shimkus, President of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce. “The majority of people in attendance are Chamber members looking to build leads and conduct business with local companies. From sole proprietors and non-profits, to large corporations, restaurants, and service based organizations, the B2B Expo is designed to meet the needs and provide networking opportunities to companies of all sizes and industries.” Cost to exhibit is $300 for a single 8x10 booth and $600 for a double 8x20 booth. Included with the cost of exhibiting, you will receive a skirted table, two chairs, electricity, Wi-Fi access, and a company sign (which only states your name). Those looking to attend as a member of the general public may do so at no charge as a Chamber member. For more information, or to sign-up, please complete the application on page 2, or visit www.saratoga.org. For any additional questions, or if you are a restaurant vendor, please contact Keith VanVeghten, [email protected] or call 584-3255. Application on Page 2

LEADERSHIP SARATOGA NON PROFIT PROPOSALS ARE NOW BEING ACCEPTED! OPEN APPLICATION PERIOD FOR NON PROFIT PROJECT PROPOSALS– LEADERSHIP SARATOGA Each year, the Leadership Saratoga Advisory Board selects four projects to be included in the curriculum of the upcoming Leadership Saratoga program. These projects, selected from submissions from our Chamber member nonprofit organizations, provide hands on experience for the class participants. Using some of the skills and thought processes they are learning while in the program, projects also allow the class an opportunity to share the knowledge and expertise they possess with an area nonprofit organization. Area nonprofits receive great benefit both by the projects that are completed and the exposure the organization receives to the 24 class participants. Projects proposals are currently being accepted. The deadline to submit a project proposal is August 1st. Proposals should be submitted from Saratoga County based Chamber member organizations. Ideal projects will require approximately 150 hours of volunteer time to complete. They cannot include fundraising. Other than the fundraising stipulation, the options and opportunities are endless! Past successful projects include; trail design, cutting, mapping, educational programming and community engagement outreach; a marketing assessment, redesign and production of collateral; a website redesign and implementation; an awareness campaign using research analysis and creation of collateral; organization and hosting of a special anniversary celebration event and the appropriate marketing and promotion to accompany the event; and a food pantry redesign, build out and food drive. These are but a few of the exciting projects groups have worked on in the past. More project examples can be viewed: www.leadershipsaratoga.org/explore-program/previous-projects/ For more information about Leadership Saratoga and project proposals, contact Kathleen Fyfe, [email protected], 584-3255 What would you LOVE to do for your organization that you don’t have the resources to do now?
