Scripture References Session 2– Revelation 1:4 - 8 Acts 2:5-12, 16:6, 19:1-10, 23-35 (Revelation 1:4) – The first time Asia is mentioned in the Bible, it is in the middle of a list of 15 different regions where people of different languages and dialects were hearing the Word of God directly in their native language, at Pentecost . . . and later in Acts, we have Paul and his missionary companions forbidden to go to Asia and other places to preach the Gospel, but instead are led to Greece where Lydia, a woman who was from Asia, but was living in Greece was converted along with all her household . . . Later in Paul’s third missionary journey he is allowed to go to Asia and spends several years there evangelizing the entire region despite the fierce opposition of those who worshipped the false goddess, Artemis Romans 1:7, 1 Corinthians 1:3, 2 Corinthians 1:2 . . . Philemon 1:3 (Revelation 1:4) – We must remember that Grace from God always precedes peace with God . . . Mercy is not getting the condemnation we deserve . . . and Grace is getting the unmerited favor we don’t deserve . . . Genesis 1:1, John 1:1, Isaiah 44:6, John 6:35, 8:12, 10:9, 10:11, 11:25, 14:6, 15:1, 8:18, 8:24, 8:58, 20:17, Isaiah 45:7, Hebrews 1:9 (Revelation 1:4-5) – The Nature of Christ as God manifest in flesh . . . Jesus claimed the Ego Eimi “I AM” statement of God for Himself . . . He uses the statement several times to indicate His Divinity, specifically three times in more abstract, mysterious and immutable ways, and seven other times, in more practical ways, to indicate what God manifest in flesh looks like in action . . . Hebrews 3:1-6, John 14:10-11, 20 (Revelation 1:5) – Jesus was God’s faithful witness, His Apostle to the world 1 Timothy 6:10-16 (Revelation 1:5) – Christ is the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords John 13:1, 15:9, 13, Romans 8:35, 2 Corinthians 5:14, Galatians 2:20, Ephesians 5:2, 1 John 3:16 (Revelation 1:5) – Christ’s love for us is unmatched in all of history, in all of humanity . . . THIS is the proof of Christianity, not doctrine, rules, theory, knowledge, etc. but that you know that Christ, truly loves you . . . this trumps all other faiths and belief systems Luke 22:24-30, Romans 5:17, 1 Corinthians 4:8-12, Revelation 20:4 (Revelation 1:6) – We rule and reign with Christ as kings and priests over the thousand year millennial period Matthew 24:15-31, Revelation 6:12-17 (Revelation 1:7) – Christ’s second coming is here foreshadowed and seems to be parallel to Matthew’s account of the second coming, however this seems to be different from the account of Revelation Chapter 6, which has similar things happening, and similar language, however there are key differences . . . Isaiah 41:4, Revelation 21:6, Hebrews 13:8 (Revelation 1:8) – Jesus Christ is the Alpha and Omega in His Divinity, just as God the Father also is the Alpha and Omega . . . God is the self-existing one Who began time and space itself, existing outside and beyond it in the realm of Eternity
