Navitas is seeking to employ a Staff Accountant to join our North American team in Boston, MA. The Staff Accountant, in conjunction with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance, is responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of the financial records for their assigned business unit(s) and any other US centralized finance duties as assigned. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FINANCE In consultation with the Finance Manager and Director of Finance 

Assist with student liaison re account queries



Production and remittance of Student Statements as required



Review of student financial records and make necessary adjustments



Responsible for student debt monitoring and collection



Reconcile University billings to the student management system



Maintain and update the student management system (Maze) for assigned business unit(s)



Prepare assigned month end journal entries and reconciliations



Perform other clerical/administrative duties as assigned

Additional assigned duties may include: 

Commission processing for assigned Business Unit(s)



Maze receipting for assigned Business Unit(s)



Student invoicing for assigned Business Unit(s)



Refund processing for assigned Business Unit(s)



Financial statements for specified Business Unit(s) including Oracle and Blackline



Travel as required

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE •

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping and the ability to apply the knowledge;



Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.;



Demonstrated administrative/organizational skills, with ability to communicate verbally and in written form;

Knowledge and experience with corporate financial, accounting and administrative information systems;



Excellent telephone, reception desk, and customer service communication skills;



Ability to work within existing guidelines, policies and procedures;



Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining a professional manner;



Ability to work well within a team environment;



Highly developed skills demonstrated in an environment of large volume work flows and critical deadlines;



Ability to interact effectively and professionally with clients and staff at all levels and adjust communication style to meet varying needs;



Outstanding interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity towards students and staff from a diverse range of backgrounds;



Legal eligibility to work in the USA.

Desirable Skills 

Degree in accounting or similar discipline, or appropriate experience;



Newly qualified CPA preferred or in CPA Program;



Experience in working with international students;



Ability to converse in a second language.
