Because of our space limitations, membership & tickets are required for High Holy Day Services. Members in good standing may attend services of their choice. There is no assigned seating. The Sanctuary opens ½ hour before services.

Baby Blessing: Celebrate Your New Addition with SWFS! During Neilah, members and their children born or adopted since the last High Holy Days (2010) are invited to ascend the bimah for a blessing by our clergy. Please, no picture-taking during services.

Today’s Jewish families are more diverse than ever. Join us for a Shabbat lunch in the sukkah, and bring a vegetarian, nut-free potluck dish that reflects part of your family’s heritage. We will provide pizza & dessert. Rabbi Kalisch will lead a discussion on the idea of welcoming family.

Join SWFS for a day trip. We’ll enjoy peak foliage while learning about ecological farm design & harvesting vegetables on the largest Jewish educational farm in North America. You’ll get to meet our goats, make your own applesauce, study Jewish texts, relax by the lake or take one of our beautiful hiking trails. All ages. Transportation will be provided.

Book Group  Sun, Oct 23, 10:30 am  This month, the book group is reading & discussing Philip Roth’s Nemesis. ECC Parent Teaching: Jewish Lens  Fri, Oct 28, 9:15 am  With Rabbi Beth Kalisch. After dropping your child off in the ECC, come by for a cup of coffee and a discussion about some of the same Jewish values and traditions that your children are learning in their classrooms. We invite everyone in the community to join our communal conversation by reading the essays in the book that most appeal to you, and coming to at least one of our People of the Book events in the month of November. In celebration of this month-long project, our congregation will gather for Shabbat afternoon learning, eating, and a beautiful havdalah ceremony over wine, spices and a braided candle.
