It is with heavy hearts we share with you that our Wendi, Flatiron’s Audiology, Inc., Office Manager of 7 years, passed away on March 28, 2018 after a very short and difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. As you know, Dr. Julie, Peggy and Wendi were a family and we are heartbroken and trying to figure out how to run the office without her. We appreciate your patience through this challenging transition. We are in the process of looking for a new staff member. In the meantime, if you hear a new voice over the phone or a new face in the office, our Audiology Doctoral Student, Liz has stepped in to help.

3 WIDEX EVOKE™ – THE WORLD’S FIRST SMART HEARING AID MAZEL TOV AND CONGRATULATIONS TO DR. JULIE’S SON, SAMSON, ON BECOMING A BAR MITZVAH ON APRIL 28TH, 2018.
CARMELITA BARS INGREDIENTS: 2 cups flour 2 cups quick cooking rolled oats 1½ cups packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup butter, melted 14 ounce package of light caramels, unwrapped 1/3 cup half and half 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips PREPARATION: Preheat oven to 350º. Line 9 x 13 inch pan with nonstick foil. In large bowl, combine flour, oatmeal, sugar, soda and salt. Add melted butter and mix till well combined. Reserve half the crumbs, about 3 cups. Press remaining crumbs into bottom of pan. In a small microwave safe bowl, combine caramels and half and half. Heat for 4-6 minutes on half power, stirring a couple times during the melting process, until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth. Sprinkle crust with chocolate chips. Drizzle with melted caramel mixture and top with reserved crumbs. Bake for 20-25 minutes or till golden brown. Cool at least one hour before cutting. Hearing aids are manufactured to be water-resistant, which means they are designed to be worn in all daily life situations. So you don’t have to worry about sweat or getting wet in the rain. However, do not wear your hearing aids while showering, swimming or participating in any other water activities. Do not immerse your hearing aids in water or other liquids. Don’t leave them in the bathroom, which is a humid and wet environment. Hearing aids can be damaged by chemicals that are found in products such as hairspray, perfume, suntan lotion, insect repellent, and eardrops.
