Team Leader Navitas Professional Hobart, Part-time (0.8) Fixed term Navitas is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, English language training and settlement services, creative media education, workforce education and student recruitment.

Navitas, or PIBT as it was then, was founded in 1994 with the goal of helping more international students succeed at university in Australia via improved student support and an extended academic year. Since this time Navitas has significantly expanded the services it offers its students and clients and is now creating opportunities through lifelong learning for over 83,000 people in 23 countries per year. The Careers & Internships (C&I) operations deliver internship and workplace preparatory courses across six Australian states and one territory to meet the requirements of national professional associations and the workforce generally. The Team Leader – Tasmania, with the support from the C & I Victoria team, will oversee the complete lifecycle of the Navitas program participants from recruitment, through the admissions and enrolment process; providing face to face support during the coursework component; ensuring appropriate internship placements are delivered, through to successful completion of the program and graduation. The Team Leader – Tasmania will also be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships in Tasmania with universities; student groups; professional associations; agents; industry partners and other key ‘centres of influence’ to support the growth of Careers and Internships programs and to ensure a positive perception of the Navitas brand. This a new position as C & I expand our delivery into Tasmania. The position is 0.8 (30 hrs per week) and hours can be worked over 4 or 5 days, depending on the preference of the applicant. The initial contract is from the start of January until the 22nd December 2017.

Essential • Undergraduate degree and/or demonstrated practical work experience within the international education/student recruitment industry with a business development focus • Demonstrated capacity to meet sales targets and deadlines • Exceptional customer and client management skills • Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills • Well-developed administration and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing tasks • Demonstrated capacity to work independently with initiative, drive and a strong sense of urgency Desirable • Previous recruitment or placement experience with professional organisations • Knowledge of internships and work-readiness programs • Previous experience with international students • Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM software • Knowledge of the international student lifecycle including visa requirements • Experience in the development of relationships with corporate clients • Proficiency in a second language and experience in an international context

Overview and Objectives of the Position:

The Careers & Internships (C&I) operations deliver internship and workplace preparatory courses across six Australian states and one territory to meet the requirements of national professional associations and the workforce generally. The unit provides career ready preparation for students seeking to enter the workforce at early stages of their professional career. C&I offer a portfolio of programs which develop foundation skills and career learning skills to enable students to progress their employment goals in their chosen career. C&I operates as a collegiate, matrixed operational model leveraging the skills and expertise of the C&I and partner Navitas business units to deliver targeted and nuanced work ready and work development solutions for individuals, education partners, host companies and professional associations across Australia. The C&I team works closely with other Navitas units, to combine areas of expertise to enable a broad range of students and clients to participate and succeed in the workplace of today and the future. Assist with the monitoring and reporting on market and competitor activities and providing relevant reports and information

Identify and develop new business opportunities • Manage Tasmanian agents by providing current product information and training; establishing and managing sales targets and ensuring agent compliance with Navitas guidelines and government regulations • Carry out/support local marketing activities to agreed timescales, and integrate personal sales efforts with other organisations’ marketing activities, e.g., product launches, promotions, advertising, exhibitions and telemarketing Achieve appropriate enrolment targets • Planning and implementing personal sales activities and customer contacts to the specific target audience, including the maintenance and development of existing and new customers through appropriate and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, in order to optimise business growth and customer satisfaction • Recruit students for C & I programs in accordance with the agreed sales targets. • Effectively counsel all prospective clients and convert enquiries into enrolments through the proactive management of clients Reinforce and strengthen quality brand perceptions through all promotions • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries using appropriate methods • Assist with the development of key marketing materials for the Programs, including website development and other electronic media; brochures, banners and other hard copy media Program Services Reinforce and strengthen quality brand perceptions through all communications • Ensure the best student experience for C & I participants. This includes, but is not limited to; regularly updating local events and information on notice boards, email and social media; organising quarterly social events ; recognising and celebrating a diverse range of cultural events • Liaise with professional associations regarding enrolments Accurately record all data and report accordingly • Enrol new participants into the CRM – Salesforce • Create comprehensive and accurate hard copy and electronic participant files • Issue Offers, COEs and Orientation Letters within 2 days of completion of paperwork and receipt of payments, with assistance from the Victorian PSO team • Liaise with participants and agents in Tasmania to obtain Acceptance of Offer, 1st instalment of tuition fees and ensuring timely collection of all remaining fees • Organise attendance sheets, enrolment into Learning Management system, reminders and paperwork for new classes Follow • • •

sound financial administration processes Create purchase orders and process invoices within 24 hours of initial request Undertake bank reconciliations daily for student payments for all training programs under C&I Manage payments of subscription for archiving (GRACE records)

Support the recruitment and management of C&I Trainers • Assist with the administration of trainers, including assisting with the recruitment process and issuance of contracts on appointment • Engage with Tasmanian Trainers regularly to ensure classes run smoothly • Deliver orientation sessions • Organise and lead graduation events Internship Placements Business Development • Participate in networking events, information seminars and industry information days to explore further internship opportunities/vacancies

Conduct outbound calls and attend meetings with prospective host companies/internship providers to expand internship opportunities available to Navitas Prepare annual reviews of Host companies and Networking activities and work with the State Operations Manager in planning for the following years activities to ensure the best ROI

Increase brand awareness and industry presence with consistent and coherent marketing messages as a leader in the education and training industry • Obtain a minimum of one host company testimonial per quarter • Obtain a minimum of one student testimonial/success story per quarter • Develop and implement a schedule to ensure all host companies with existing internships are contacted regularly and a physical visit is conducted at least once per placement Achieve appropriate placement and engagement targets • Develop strong relationships at the appropriate levels within a broad range of industries across Tasmania with the aim of generating internship opportunities for Navitas participants • Negotiate with internship host companies on aspects of internship training plans • Interview program participants and shortlist participant resumes for host companies • Coach program participants on interview skills and Australian workplace culture and place graduates into quality and compliant internships with suitable host companies • Monitor the progress of the placed interns and provide support to host companies • Conduct class presentations on internships as required • Act as a liaison point if difficulties arise during the internship and manage any internship concerns that are escalated from the IPCs • Monitor host company suitability and performance and address any issues as they arise General Ensure optimal use of systems, processes and procedures • Maintain and update the CRM systems (Salesforce, WIP, and SONIA) with all relevant data across the business systems, complying with current business processes and complete general administration work as required • Use customer and prospect contact activities tools and systems, and update relevant information held in these systems • Ensure all enquiries receive a response within 48 hours of logging the enquiry.
