Breakin' Convention is the UK's festival of hip hop dance theatre and it’s coming to Norwich in 2017! As well as the stage production at Norwich Theatre Royal on Saturday 13th May, the theatre will be transformed into a hip-hop zone with a host of activities planned including live graffiti walls, DJ workshops and dance battles, and an urban art exhibition too. Enter the graffiti photo or poster competition for your chance to win a pair of tickets to the event and have your work exhibited front of house on the day.

The photo competition is about reportage which is open to free and personal interpretation. Any Urban Art depicted can have been photographed either in Norfolk or elsewhere. The poster competition is about being inspired by graffiti style design. Promoting the event will be key and colourful creativity is encouraged!

Please read the terms and conditions carefully before submitting your entry. Competition closes at midnight on Saturday 29th April 2017. Entries can be landscape or portrait and winners will be exhibited in 12/8 black frames. Posters should be on A4 card or paper. Entry Requirements Graffiti Photo & Poster Exhibition competition is open to anyone living in the UK. To be eligible for the competition, your entry must be received no later than Saturday 29th April 2017. To enter, either: • Email your photo or scanned poster design to [email protected] with ‘Graffiti Exhibition Competition’ in the subject line. • Post your 12in/8in print or A4 poster design to:

Graffiti Exhibition Competition, Stage Two, Norwich Theatre Royal, Theatre Street, Norwich, Norfolk, NR2 1RL Please include your full name, age, address, email and contact telephone number with your entry. You may also wish to title your work. Photographic images must be printed to fit 12/8 frames and posters should be no larger than A4 and card or paper is fine. We suggest you leave a small border on your poster design. Emailed images will be printed on the entrant’s behalf if their work is shortlisted. When photographing graffiti please take care and do not put yourself or others at risk. Do not climb anything, and be careful near roads and water. We reserve the right not to include photographs, believed to have been captured unsafely, at our discretion. After dark shots are not encouraged. When designing your graffiti poster include one or more of the following:

You may also include anything else you want but entries must not contain defamatory, obscene or offensive language or any other unsuitable material. No responsibility can be accepted for entries lost, delayed, misdirected, damaged or undelivered. Incomplete or incorrectly sized entries may be disqualified. The Promoter shall not be responsible for technical errors in telecommunications networks, internet access or otherwise preventing entry to any competition.

Entries must be original and entirely the entrants own photographic or design work and entrants must be responsible for crediting urban art where possible. Urban artists are encouraged to contact the promoter for credit if their work has been photographed. In consideration of the Promoter allowing entrants to enter the Competition, by entering the Competition each entrant shall retain the copyright in their entry but shall grant to the Promoter a non-exclusive worldwide, sub-licensable license to use or allow third parties to use the material you have provided to us in connection with the Competition in any manner we choose on any media including any online platforms without restriction for the full terms of any rights that may exist in your material, without payment to you or any third party.

Judging Entries will be judged on the following criteria: • Popularity on social media (likes & shares on entries posted by the promoter on NTR Take Part facebook page). Entries will be posted on social media when received and the album will be updated with new entries as they come in. Names will not appear on social media but entrants are encouraged to share their entry. • Shortlist of entries by Norwich Theatre Royal team. • Overall selection by Breakin’ Convention representatives & top graffiti artist.

Winners One image will be chosen for each category (graffiti photo and graffiti poster entries) totaling two overall prize winners. Each winner will be awarded with two tickets to Breakin’ Convention on Saturday 13th Mary 2017 • There will be a total of 25 entries displayed in the exhibition all day on Saturday 13th May 2017 at Norwich Theatre Royal. • Winners and successful exhibition submissions will be notified by email within 7 days of the notified closing date. • The judge’s decisions will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Prize Each overall category winner will be awarded with two tickets each to Breakin’ Convention at Norwich Theatre Royal on Saturday 13th Mary 2017 at 7.30pm. • Twenty three runners-up will each receive a slot in the Front of House exhibition. • Prize is as stated and non-transferable. No cash alternatives will be offered. • Ticket winners are responsible for their own travel to and from the theatre. No expenses will be paid.

General The Promoter shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations to the winners and any guests is such delay or failure is caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control. Neither shall the Promoter be liable to the winners and any guests for any loss or damage caused. Entrants may be required to participate in publicity without further consent or payment, such publicity including without limitation the entrant’s name, entry or any information provided by the entrant. These elements may be used by the Promoter in any and all media in perpetuity throughout the world as the Promoter sees fit. A list of winners for each competition can be obtained by sending a stamped addressed envelope together with details of which competition winners list you require to the Promoter within 30 days from the relevant closing date. The competition and these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and the courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in relation to any disputes arising therefrom.

The competition is now open and will close at midnight on Saturday 29th April 2017.
