The Choice Is Yours Getting To Know Each Other • What other choices, or options to spend your time, did you have tonight? What made you choose Life Group? Did you struggle with the decision? Into the Bible Read Deuteronomy 30:1-10 • What does Moses mean when he says to “return to the LORD”? What step does Moses mention to the Israelites? • In verse 3, what will God do for them if they “return”? What will be restored? • How is God able to get Israel back into the Promised Land? See verse 5 and 7 • What work will God do in us if we choose to seek Him first? See verse 6. What will we begin to do after God’s work on our hearts? • In verse 9, what does it mean that God will make us prosperous? Does it mean financially prosperous? What areas in our lives are mentioned that would be affected? • Is this God’s specific promise to us today or only the Israelites? • Is this prosperity a general blessing in our lives or specific things we can look for? • Application: Was there a time when you returned to the Lord? If so, what was restored to you? • Application: Are there any areas in our life that need “heart surgery”? Read Deuteronomy 30:11-20 • In verses 11-14, what objection is Moses answering? • Where are the words of the Law for the people to follow? Verse 14 • What choice is God giving the Israelites in verse 15? • In verses 17-18, what will happen if the Israelites go their own way, worship idols and turn their back on God? • Application: Verse 19 encourages us to “choose life”. What daily habits help you to make that decision each day? • Application: Can you recognize genuine faith in others? What do you look for in their lives? • Application: When did you first “choose life”? Prayer • Encourage your group to share personal prayer requests. • Be sure to pray for each person in your group.
