The Gift Peace

Pastor Carl Toti November 28-29, 2015 Isaiah 9:6-7 (NLT) 6 For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen! 1. Wonderful Counselor 2. Mighty God 3. Everlasting Father 4. Prince of Peace 1.Peace Comes Through Trust Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trus in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you. Thoughts must be tamed. Brought into obedience to Christ. 2. Peace Comes Through Prayer Philippians 4:6-9 (NLT) 6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. 9 Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you 3. Peace Comes Through Christ John 14:27 (NLT) “I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
